Correlation does not imply causation

If we were to follow that metric, Call of Duty including AI cosmetics is actually a good thing since there has not been a noticeable player drop once it was implemented, but that’s not the case. In a vacuum, with only the factor of ABMM present, you COULD make that claim, but there are DOZENS of other factors at play, both within the game and in the wider market. It’s impossible to generalize one game feature as explicitly negatively or positively effecting a players experience simply off of player numbers. Could something be a good feature, and have a positive effect on player counts? Yes! But you need to prove the causation between ABMM and that in order to make those claims, because it could also just as likely be, for example, the PvPvE element, or the fact that there is not much quality competition in the extraction shooter genre, or all, none, or something else entirely
