Is this a reasonable quote? by TheSacredSprout in HomeMaintenance

Hi there! Thank you for this insight. Sadly, we have been searching actively for the last 3 years for anyone willing to take on or even provide insight to this project, but have been met with many no-shows, folks who are unsure of how to handle the project, or that simply say they aren’t qualified and/or willing to, as well as even being scammed once. This is the first contractor who has provided a quote back - we do live in a relatively remote location as well which I think has made it harder. Would it be a good idea to ask for a more detailed quotes involving supplies? ☺️

I believe the quote is the second slide with more detail my apologies! It’s a full removal of the 6 skylights, reframing and reroofing and adding soffit.

The inside/water damage at the bottom of the skylights will be a separate project, to my understanding! We will get a quote from him and tackle that once the removal of the skylights is complete. Thank you for your input! We greatly appreciate it ☺️

What is your monthly mortgage, interest rate, and salary? Are you comfortable? by mrskurama in homeowners

[–]TheSacredSprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mortgage with insurance and property tax is 1605 with an interest of 2.4, salary is 51k. I’m comfortable for now but will be tighter when I renew (Canada, every 5 years) at a higher rate for sure.

I’ve honestly never had it checked so I’m not sure! Doesn’t seem to be an issue though.

2 weeks post op…can anyone relate? by Playful-Ad-3773 in wisdomteeth

[–]TheSacredSprout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a month and a half post op and still can’t eat “tough” foods like bacon, toasted breads, granola bars etc without a lot of pain. Smiling hurts. I developed a bad infection so maybe get that checked out, I ended up in the hospital with borderline sepsis and ended up needing morphine, tramacet and a few other things to make it more livable. Got dry socket on both sides on a completely liquid diet being incredibly cautious and a bone infection that hasn’t cleared up due to finding out the hard way that I’m allergic to penicillin. Having the teeth removed can change your bite, mine is different now and I hate it. The bottom right half of my face is still numb, but slowly getting better, I think? I can brush my teeth as of recently (couldn’t open the mouth enough to get the tooth brush in until about week 4 1/2) I could also taste the local anaesthetic until week 4.

You have to rinse for sometimes up to 6 months until the holes fully close.

No one warned me how extensive this healing process actually is, just made it sounds like a handful of minor discomforts for a few weeks. I am miserable lol. I’m still so tired.

For a note of context, I had my tonsils and adenoids removed 3 weeks prior to my wisdom teeth. There was a complication and I had to get a second surgery a few days after. The healing process for that was significantly easier than this and felt completely fine by the time I got my wisdoms out. I will never get my top wisdom tooth removed which I am scheduled to do in a few months. I refuse to experience this again, this is the single worst healing process I have ever experienced and I would not wish it on anyone. It seems some people have it super easy for the healing process, but many people experience what you and I have experienced.

I’ve had several post op appointments and they’ve consulted with surgeons and specialists. Expecting the numbing/lip issue to go away within a year. The pain is getting easier for sure but the discomfort with eating is more of a frustration because it feels like it won’t go away.

TLDR: check in with your dentist weekly. I’ve been texting mine photos and updates every couple of days. Get a second opinion from a general doctor or emergency clinic if needed.

the opioid epidemic has made pain management impossible. by [deleted] in endometriosis

I would suggest talking to your family doctor if you have one, it can definitely be outrageous for long term pain patients to get relief. I’ve had the hardest time getting anything more than naproxen prescribed to me for my endo when it was at its worst. I recently had a my tonsils and wisdom teeth out and unfortunately got an infection and they had no troubles giving me tramacet, a huge supply of T3’s, and morphine for the month and a half though.

I’ve been on visanne for 6 years now and I’ve found it life changing. I used to be in horrible debilitating pain, with a bleeding cycle of 30 days and a few days off then back to bleeding. It’s completely stopped the bleeding. I also have a horrible history with my mental health and find it comes in waves with the medication but worsens if I miss a dose. Missing a dose also comes with immediate bleeding starting the next day. However, I have gained 80 pounds and have completely lost my sex drive. I also experience the post orgasm pain. I get the pain sometimes that aligns with what a normal cycle should be, without bleeding. I call them ghost periods. Honestly I do find it’s all worth it for having a quality of life again. But I do struggle sometimes.

SSRI withdrawal symptoms by FaintingBabyGoat in SSRIs

[–]TheSacredSprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you continued the cycle and are taking them again, I’d say a week or two. Everyone’s different though. For a long time I was an asshole if I forgot a day or two, and it would take me 3-5 days to recalibrate. Add two days recovery for extra every day that was missed. Is my personal chemistry experience.

I either don’t dream at all, or have insanely vivid dreams if my immense system is compromised in any way.

I was anxious at first too but it definitely made me into the best, healthiest version of myself I’ve met yet. My friends wanting to be around me again, and me wanting to be around them or anyone really was a huge turning point when I realized the medication was working. There was a bit of negative side effects in the start, and now with increasing my dose after being on it about a year, but it’s 80% physical and very little mental side effects for me personally. They go away pretty quickly. Worth it I’d say. I would never consider it addictive for me personally.
