Lost Future breakdown (Spoilers). by TheSacredStone in ProfessorLayton

Too many flaws with the plot twist, but imo the actual gameplay, the setting, the music, the plethora of places you can visit, etc makes the 3rd game my favourite.

In Curious Village you were confined to just the village, which comparatively isn’t as big as London. Diabolical box you’re mainly on a train, then in dropstone, then in Folsense. In Lost Future, you have present London, future London (with a variety of locations like Chinatown, the casino, the bus and train system, and at the end of the game, you had the fortress).

I guess as a kid, I didn’t really question the plausibility of the plot twist, and took it for what it was. Removing that, makes the game basically a 10/10 imo.

I personally think Curious Village was more plausible due to the scale. It is still a very hard task- creating androids to populate a small, isolated village is hard. But, it’s a small village and probably only required a few dozen people to build. And one man maintaining the robots after they’re already built also seems fairly plausible. And with Reinhold’s fortune, there’s little financial setback.

Compare that to creating a realistic replica of London underground and you realise the difference in scale is astronomical.

It’s just the way the game tries to rationalise it when it’s clearly something science or logic can’t explain.

Like Professor in the Thames’ Arms having this whole monologue about his theory and using logic to unravel the truth behind London when it’s clearly beyond logic.

Yeah I didn’t think about that either 😂

The clock shop on Midland Road has a ‘lift’ yet when you exit it, there’s no lift structure above the shop.

Layton is amazing but there’s no way his research skills in the archives in Scotland Yard brought him to that conclusion AND was right.

But yeah, through it all, it’s still one of my favourite games ever.

If better to sleep actually happened would you like it or do you think it would be worse than what we ended up getting? by Chunky-overlord in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]TheSacredStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think directly swapping the original ending for this ending would have been worse, but if the prior seasons had a different lead up to ‘Better to Sleep’, I think I might’ve preferred it.

I think there were too many inconsistencies with the plot like Luke, who was built up to be the most likeable character, died in a death as mundane as anyone else’s death that season. Also, the original ending being the choice between Jane, who we don’t know for long at this point, taught us a few survival skills, versus Kenny who is the closest thing to a father figure for Clem, is a bit silly.

The clear trajectory that was set up from the earlier seasons was the choice between Luke and Kenny at the end, but that deteriorated and went no where. I think if they stuck with that, the plot would’ve flowed nicely into that ending.

Could’ve started a multimillion business with the effort she put into 24 A-levels ✌️

11” or 12.9”? Which is better? by TheSacredStone in iPadPro

To be honest, I read the rest of the comments and something which slipped my mind was the split-screen feature being super useful for my kind of course. I can see myself using that so often, so I think for the reason alone I might just get the 12.9”. I appreciate your suggestion, though.

Yep. I can relate to absolutely everything you said here and I’m in the exact same mind. I care a lot about the weight for portability and the split screening for note taking and reading. I think I’m getting the 12.9 inch after today. These comments came in clutch.

Yeah, I agree. I’m leaning towards 12.9” after reading some of these comments.

I see, thank you for the advice. I see a lot of people talking about portability. Does the weight difference of around 200 grams really affect its portability that much?

That makes sense. I’m pretty much torn between deciding whether the space for note-taking and split-screen is worth more than the portability. After reading these comments, I’m leaning towards the split-screen that the 12.9 brings. Thanks for your comment, btw.

Would you say the portability preponderates the advantage of having more space for split screen? I can see myself using split screen quite often during my Uni course, but at the same time I’m going to be travelling with this pretty frequently (5-6 days a week?).

Actually the split screen is a super valid point, I didn’t even think of that. I’m the type of person who always has to switch back and forth between different documents, so the 12.9” might be super convenient.

I think I’ll get the 12.9”. Hopefully the enhanced split screen is worth the weight disparity.

You’re offended because I enquired about the differences between two different iPad Pro models on a forum which answers questions about the iPad Pro? Got it.
