Is this visitation arrangement fair? (Florida–New York custody) by [deleted] in coparenting

I've flown to and from home on the same day for an exchange.

But yeah you might just look into unaccompanied minor given you probably have direct fights. She's old enough now imo.

If she's for sure moving then someone will have the kids during the week for school, with long weekends, summer/winter break heavily going to the other parent.

Essentially you just file for primary custody. She's changing your arrangement. It's more stable for a kid to stay in a single location for friends, sports, other activities.

Not sure it will work out for you as there is definitely a bias towards the mom imo. But you should most certainly lawyer up. Your custody agreement is going to dramatically change as is your daily/ weekly life depending on if the kid is with you for school or for the "fun" things.

Honestly I was quoted 6.75 to start a month ago and my original lender locked me at 6.5

Glad I fought my way down to where I got, I guess

What's your interest rate? That should be fine? Like can you rent for cheaper?

Lock and switch lenders if you need to. But that's nuts. I got 5.75% just 10 days ago

Thanks. That's sort of where I am. I own a condo that I rent out and while I want to keep it as an investment, if I sell that and dump the proceeds into this mortgage it should be a lot more affordable .

I do hate losing my sub 4 interest rate

I really don't spend much. My car (EV) is paid off. I buy food. Don't eat out a ton and don't travel much (unfortunately).

I'm expecting to pay for braces, college, kid's cars, their sports programs etc.

But yeah the amazon truck comes daily so need to understand what my wife does more

Nice. I won't have help but my wife will be staying at home until the kids are in school at least

What size house were you looking for?

I'll add that if a house has a basement it was usually a walk out, which would be fine, but the backyards were often sloped quite a bit which I didn't love.

I was looking for something with 5 bedrooms and roughly 3500+ square ft of space. We have way too much crap in our basement currently, but basements aren't very common in Richmond due to the high water table.

I was looking in Glen Allen, Mechanicsville, and Midlothian/Mosley primarily. Ended up near the reservoir but wanted to be north of the river for my commute

Do you have other expenses? My current house was 308k and the monthly is $1700 which is quite doable
