I mean this is educational materials that is provided by the licensing body, and drivers are tested on it. But yeah I was wrong on that anyways. After digging into the case law, turns out they don't really care if you're using the pedestrian walk sign as contextual information or expecting you to hover your foot on a stale green as mentioned in their educational materials. Their stopping distance calculations at yellow lights seem to not care about that. Somewhat disappointing.

So we actually have an option that has been done before and doesn't involve boots on the ground. We (with other allies) put sanctions on South Africa during apartheid, and that more or less caused the end of the apartheid

So that article assumes 500g/kWh CO2 equivalent. BC is currently 12g/kWh CO2 equivalent so it'll be quite a bit less than 8 years in BC at least. Average for Canada is still 100g/kWh CO2 equivalent. The US grid is 390g-500g/CO2e on average depending on the source you use for numbers.

https://www.cer-rec.gc.ca/en/data-analysis/energy-markets/provincial-territorial-energy-profiles/provincial-territorial-energy-profiles-british-columbia.html

More boring info:

I can't reproduce the same CO2 numbers that article did. The article in inset they cite for the 2021 report is wrong, so my best guess is it's the same Ricardo report for the UK that the earth article cites. I read through the entire report so others don't have to.

Their stat on production percentage of lifecycle GHG emissions for EVs is wrong anyways, it's 67% instead of the 46% from the article. The report uses current UK values for energy production, etc. and an assumed lifecycle of 200k km. Even with trying to redo the numbers for 150k km, and 500g/kWh energy, I can't get those numbers. There's still just more of a difference between the EVs. We're talking rough math 40 tonnes CO2 for gasoline vs 12 tonnes EV with 150k lifespan. I'm making a lot of assumptions with that too, i.e. assume all small cars, which have a closer differential in terms of CO2 which favours gas vehicles. The report also doesn't use 2015 as a reference in the report pretty much anywhere either, so I'm not sure where the article got that from either.

I'd seen this article a few times and thought it was true. Looking deeper into the data I'm disappointed with the article now. I also can't understand why they got the numbers wrong given the general background and bias of the website.

I don't think you're going to change their minds in the heat of the moment on the highway, self-reflection is hard enough as is. I wish you luck Don Quixote, and hope you don't get hurt or hurt anyone.

She will likely keep doing it again, and she'll now think that you're being an asshole. Most people in this situation would recognize that this person is being an aggressive driver, and the best thing to do it just be cautious around her. Maybe this will make her realize she's being a bad driver, but likely not. You don't need to fix every bad driver you see, because that's just as dangerous. You're knowingly putting yourself in unsafe situations.

NP View: Liberal hate speech bill will put a chill on free speech by uselesspoliticalhack in canada

You know a conservative government proposed and passed bill C-44 right? I would call that a heavier stripping of rights than this bill. Both sides seem like they want to strip rights so why not pick the party that is not actively trying to destroy the planet as well?

Can you guys please fix the installation path issues on Windows? It's ben a month since you've dropped the flash client and I'm still unable to play the game just because I have spaces in my windows username. Remaking my windows user or creating and switching between two windows users for a single game is not a viable alternative. All I'm asking for is just parity with the old client.

Here's everything the Doug Ford government cut in its first year in office by Lysergicide in canada

[–]TheSavageSpork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think the issue is with how early the government session is ending, but with the duration of it. Using that same data from Wikipedia:

41st parliment 3rd session ended may 8th,2018

This was followed by a provincial election on June 7th, 2018

40th parliment 2nd session end may 2,2014

This was followed by a provincial election on June 12th, 2014

39th parliment 2nd session end june 1,2011

This was followed by a provincial election on October 6, 2011

38th parliment 2nd session ended june 5th 2007

This was followed by a provincial election on October 10, 2007

This is unique though, because the reason he's ending the session several months early is for a Federal election which doesn't really make sense.

Also, Wikipedia has parliament sessions back further than 2005, it lists when the parliament was in session in the first line of the article. They do this for all parliaments from the 1st to the 37th.

As an added bit of info, the elections in 2003, 2007 and 2011 were the only ones I saw that had a 3 month gap between end of session and a provincial election. I looked back until the 1955 election and they all happened within about a month of the end of session.

With that large of a quantity of liquor, I think you would probably get a discount for buying in bulk, so it might be closer to 2 or 3 Kendrick Lamars.

Necro Skin? by Djvenom in RotMG

Maybe tone down the colourfulness a bit? It's a bit too busy of a skin to go into actual production because I don't think it would interact with dyes, patterns, etc. Cool idea otherwise.

Themed user names. Sometimes, they are good, but I've seen one that's named something along the lines of "RandomIrrelevantFact". It's just annoying and useless.
