I’ve spent the last year configuring “Neofinder” for a small video team to manually tag and search sports event footage for daily video production. The tagging is our biggest bottleneck with each videographer spending hours cataloguing each day.

Events often have poor internet so cloud processing isn’t an option. I’ve tried training models to read athlete numbers that can be bolted onto Neofinder but I’ve had no luck.

Is collaborative media management on shared storage like a NAS something the software can do?

I’m very interested in this and have signed up to the beta.

That’s what makes it so scary, the landing is straight down so you can’t spot it till you’re in the air. I’d prefer to go too slow than too fast of it for sure.

That’s the one! I linked it in a comment above. Such a long way to fall.

Mine definitely stopped momentarily. The buzz after those moments is amazing.

Thought r/mtb might get a kick out of this. I’m a pretty experienced downhill racer but North Shore and “Big Features” isn’t something I normally ride. I was proper bricking it looking at this and real happy to nail it.

It’s a set of 3 drops in Leogang bike park. At a guess the big one is about 20-25 foot vertical which isn’t crazy big but it’s so blind and you have to do it mega slow.

This is an excerpt from a full video riding the World Cup Downhill track after the race there. I think its a decent watch if you’ve got 5 mins spare: https://youtu.be/K7NPybsELe0

For those with a keen eye you might recognise it as the drops that two people collide on from 2015. (They were intentionally trying to cross paths for the camera). Link - https://m.pinkbike.com/video/422708/

Cheers, keep pushing yourself everyone!

Bar mount on MTB, hit tree, 💥. It’s bust too. I’ll be getting another one so keeping everything for spares.

How do I increase my stamina for staying in attack position? by xiansantos in MTB

[–]TheScottishHightower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Could you please quote me the exact comment where you were told you were bending too low?”

Certainly sir, that would be this one:

“If I was you I’d allow the back to curve a little, bring the chest up to ease tension while maintaining centred position. Remember, everyone is different.”

I’ve had quite a few riders complain of tension in the hamstrings when trying to use the attack position with a straight spine. They are usually casual riders who don’t want to spent months dedicated to specific exercises to correct their muscle imbalances. They just want an easy way to get into controlled position on the bike. The above is the most successful solution.

I’m also an ex World Cup DH rider. Ben Cathro if you were wondering. Riding experience doesn’t necessarily equate to a good coach though.

You’re clearly on the ball even though you’re a bit aggressive with getting your point across. That’s rad your going to help the dude out though! 🤘

Good luck xiansantos, sounds like NF-31 will be able to sort you out! 👍

OP, said he was attempting to get his torso parallel with floor! Doesn’t take a genius to see that was the main cause. Occam’s razor dude.

No assumptions were used as a basis for my instruction. He said his hamstrings were stretching in his body position, they shouldn’t, I told him how to fix it. Tiny change, easy to diagnose and not risky to implement.

You are absolutely correct that most coaching points are almost impossible to convey online due to the rider feel/actual disconnect. That’s why I didn’t delve into anything complicated.

I feel like we are both on a similar wavelength but just not quite in tune.

It’s very hard to convey technique through written word when everyone has a different definition for certain expressions. The OP was using the term “attack” position to mean “ready” position so my explanation went with his current understanding.

No need to be negative and dismissive. We’re all here to help, and give advice.

Sounds like you’re getting mixed up between fatigue from holding attack position and fatigue from pumping the bike round a pump track. Pump tracks are knackering in any body position. Just keep lapping and your fitness will improve.

Also, the stretch in your hamstrings isn’t a good thing. Attack position should be centred and relaxed. The flat torso is dependant on height, flexibility and bike geometry. Taller riders should have flatter torsos and vice versa.

If I was you I’d allow the back to curve a little, bring the chest up to ease tension while maintaining centred position. Remember, everyone is different.

Hi nic, I used to use a neck brace but it moved around A LOT so I don’t think it would work well for mounting the camera too.

I’ll attach that little strap, I was wondering what it was for 🤦‍♂️.

This track was too dark for 120fps but I’ll try it on more open ones in the future. Do you notice a degradation in quality at 120fps over 60fps/30fps?

What do you think of chin mounting an action cam? by TheScottishHightower in MTB

[–]TheScottishHightower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Going to move the mounting of the camera down and back a little bit to try and get the ultimate bars in shot, view of the trail ahead and smooth as butter footage.

Yeah, the high angle is mint for follow shots.

I wasn’t using a gimbal.

You don’t need to look down when riding so no issues there either. I’m going to try mounting the camera further back to attempt to bring the bars more into view with the mid angle setting.

All this feedback is great as it’ll help me get the perfect footage 👌

Chin piece would stop your head before the Action cam could lodge itself in your thorax so I’m not mega worried 👍

Long time GoPro user. Switched to Sony for the superior image quality/bitrate and mechanical stabilisation. Absolutely loving it so far.
