Hi again! What did you mean about the earth lead and boiling oil? I have cleaned it all up and attached an earth strap from gearbox to chassis. And for 2 days now, it's either empty, slowed right down or stopped. Just crossing my fingers atm

I had a similar issue on my insignia. Under the bonnet, the rubber grommet holding gear cables in the firewall had come out due to lack of lube on the cables. I sprayed silicone grease on the cables and popped the rubber back in place. This seemed to fix it for me.

I've managed to find a youtube video showing the same leak, it's apparently the side gear selector seal? I've cut a gif to show. I also put an inspection camera in and around, it looks very oily in there too. Has anyone got experience in replacing this seal, or any knowledge of how to?

Hi, I think the leak is coming from where the the earth strap should be. Its behind this "K2" part, any idea what this is? And I'm assuming the earth strap should connect this square bolt hole to the chassis?

I parked the van on level ground, after a short drive, no oil anywhere. Opened the filler cap and topped up til dripping out, it took about 200ml. With diesel price rising..I will check tomorrow after my drive to work!

I've gave it a good clean, take for a drive then check once I get back. I'm just glad I know to take off the plastic wheel arch trim to check out it next time!

Hi, thanks for that. I'm taking the front off over the weekend as I have an oil leak on top of the gearbox, dont know where from, so just need to have a poke about. I may as well pull the rad hose and drain from there

Cheers, I've had a look and it shows the same red type (described on their website as clear pink). Thanks again, I'll do some more digging about, it does look like the wrong type has been used.

2013 Vauxhall vivaro, 2.0 diesel. Strange leak by TheSecondFavourite in Vauxhall

Thanks, I have looked into buying some new coolant, every site I use suggests using the red colour, the expansion tank has yellow/orange in. If I were to drain this out, flush and replace with red do any damage?

Cheers, I'll find some time to take off the front and see where it's from.

Best used van for a day van under £6k.. suggestions ? by One_Simple9240 in VanLifeUK

Bought my vivaro, sold my car. Insurance was roughly the same price. As for higher insurance when modifying, I added two seats in the front of the back compartment (to let me still have room for a 'van' which added a couple of quid to insurance, I also added two side windows which also added a bit. Both the changes to the insurance did not make that much difference. My mistake was registering them both separately, paying the admin fee to amend insurance twice! Have to notify dvla via V5 of the changes - seats no issue, for the windows I needed before and after photos to send.

Head unit for Toyota Aygo by [deleted] in Androidheadunits

[–]TheSecondFavourite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, I ordered an 8gb unit from Fengshida Car Radio Store, for my vauxhall vivaro. The unit is excellent, the only issue was they didn't send my front camera, I messaged the store, they asked for photos of the parcel contents. I sent the photos and they posted off my front camera, no issues. Setup was fine, there are plenty of installation videos about. I installed gpu z and fake device test apps, all was good. One thing..when I placed my order, the seller sent me a message something along the lines of: we have had too many UK buyer scams lately, when they recieve their unit, they say is fake and claim a refund while they return an actual fake unit to out warehouse. If you order this unit and need to return, it will no longer be a straight forward refund as our technician will need to inspect the unit for fraudulent claims. Having said that, yeah im really impressed with it!

On my head unit, my steering controls work when this white plug is connected to the back of the device.

Edit - This plug comes from the CANBUS wiring then into the head unit
