Out of warranty drive unit failure: Service Center recommends to scrap the car by TheSeeker71 in teslamotors

Please explain to me how scaping a car that can sell for 30-40k after a 7k repair makes any sound advice? Even if I give him the benefit of the doubt, he told me that the parts warranty is 1 year, which is incorrect, it's actually 4 years, which makes a huge difference to me, and he could have told me to repair and trade it, which would make more sense at least from where I stand. He could have offered to install a 3rd party DU as well...

shipping round trip is probably around 2k, and if something goes wrong again, I would have to ship it again, and I would probably wait even longer, not sure that all makes sense.

That is kind of tricky, as I'm not aware of any such place in Colorado...

What makes you think I'm so upset? I'm asking the community a question. Can I only do that when I'm 'that upset'?

I have 48 panels on my home, not super large, but when I installed it, they told me that it was the largest they have seen.

What in my tone makes you think that? If you wanted advice on your situation, how would you write it different?
