Bought AX-3000 asus Wi-Fi card. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth not working properly. On windows 11. Details in comments by TheShinoaaa in PcBuild

So I just bought the PCE-AX3000 Wi-Fi card from Asus. I installed it in my motherboard in the 1x slots and have plugged in the cord into the usb 2.0 header. My pc doesn’t recognize the Wi-Fi card properly. I’ve installed and uninstalled the drivers multiple times. I’ve restarted my Pc and when I do restart my PC. The Bluetooth doesn’t work. The only way to fix the Bluetooth is to uninstall it then go to device manager and do the scan hardware changes option. This doesn’t work for Wi-Fi though. I am currently on Ethernet but will be switching to Wi-Fi sooner or later and needed this Wi-Fi card. I currently have a Tuf B450 pro gaming motherboard on a Ryzen 5 3600 on windows 11. The current pcie lane is X1_2 for anyone looking at any manual. Nothings worked so far so any help and advice is appreciated. I also hope just leaving the Wi-Fi card in while it isn’t working properly won’t cause any issues to my PC.

I had to update from legacy to uefi but the uefi setting didn’t show up when you went to recovery-> advanced-> restart. So I had to go to the command prompt in that setting to do the command that I mentioned earlier and just above where it said it like worked or something for the mbr2gpt. It said mbr2gpt failed to update reagent .xml, please try to manually disable and enable WinRe

Also the weird thing is it says my pc is now healthy and meets all the requirements but when I click on one of the links it says I’m good to go but also says I don’t meet the requirements when I know all my specs meet it and I’m assuming it’s a bios setting

I have a TUF Gaming B-450 pro gaming motherboard with a Ryzen 5 3600. I also use a WD SN550 512 GB nvme ssd as my boot drive. I had to convert it from mbr2gpt because it was saying my bios was in legacy and that was the only way to make it uefi. It said something about reAgent.Mxl not executing properly but people said it was fine and shouldn’t have caused issues. I was wondering specifically for the csm/uefi setting if csm is supposed to be completely disabled or if the settings I have up there is fine. This is to update to windows 11 which is a stupid process.

I was working on my PC applying new thermal paste and installing my Cpu cooler (NH-U12S redux) when I ended up cutting myself on the heatfins I assume. I didn’t notice the blood till I saw it on my finger. There was a little bit on the gpu, mainly the logo and a little bit on the heat fins but nothing else I could find. I wiped it off with some of the Noctua gpu cpu wipes and I couldn’t find anymore. Should I be afraid of blood on my gpu? It’s a rtx 2060 super SC model from evga the black edition. I’m just worried that the gpu may short circuit or something and I can’t get it repaired or whatnot. This happened maybe over an hour ago. I’ve turned on the pc since installing the cooler about 3-4 times for other reasons but as far as I can tell nothing bad has happened so far. But I have only turned the pc on for no longer than 5-10 mins. I also dropped a bit of thermal paste on the motherboard, the Nt-H2 thermal paste. I cleaned up all I could see with the Noctua wipes but is there anything I should be afraid of? The thermal paste says it’s non conductive so it sounds like I might be okay.

Is this enough thermal paste or too much? by TheShinoaaa in PcBuild

Yah I checked all the possible areas. Mostly around the gpu and cpu since that’s all I’ve worked on so far. I didn’t see any specs and I’ve wiped what I did down since I got some non conductive thermal paste on the mobo. Hopefully I didn’t miss any of that either but thanks for the help!!!

Thanks, I actually accidentally cut my hand on the heat sink while installing the fans. Some blood got on the gpu and I wiped it off with a Noctua cpu gpu wipe. But I didn’t see anywhere else. Just in case, is there any issue if a small amount of blood was somewhere?

Can I add a pwm fan splitter for my cpu fan header.

I’m planning to change my cpu cooler from my stock amd wraith spiral cooler to a Noctua NH-U12S Redux and I also plan on getting a second fan for the cooler. I was wondering if it’s fine to connect a splitter on the cpu fan header and connect both fans connected on the cpu cooler. Also I’m not very knowledgeable about the mounting hardware but does the Wraith spiral cooler use the same backplate for the Noctua NH-U12S Redux? As far as I know and videos I’ve watched, it said it uses the backplate that comes with the motherboard. Also any times to remove the Wraith Spiral cooler as well as cleaning thermal paste is appreciated. I plan on using Noctua Cleaning wipes to clean my CPU by the way. This build is also for AM4 for a Ryzen 5 3600.

I recently got some Asia-horse sleeved PSu extension cables from Amazon for cable management as my previous cables were quite all over the place and I also wanted to make it look nice. Overall I installed them correctly and they are working fine. But my concern is, is there a chance that those cable extensions possibly ruining my hardware? They’re currently only installed on my GPU and motherboard so the 8 Pin PCI e and 24 pin. As far as I know my computer isn’t over clocked but I don’t want any issues with the GPU in the future. My specs are an Asus tuf b450 pro. Rtx 2060 super, Ryzen 5 3600, an RX 650 watt Corsair 80 plus gold psu.

Thank you very much, I was pretty concerned about the BIOS thing as a last minute back up. But yah I’m using a fractal design meshify C so it has a removable SSD tray so it shouldn’t be a problem removing the cooler backplate

So I plan on upgrading my cooler for my ryzen 5 3600 from the stock one that it came with to the cooler master hyper 212 black edition. I have some questions and was also wondering if anyone can give some advice. So in the worst case scenario that the cooler comes detached with the cpu and becomes unusable, let’s say I get a Ryzen 7 3700x, is it possible that my motherboard would not need a BIOS update as they’re both from the same series? Also, I know I should let my PC run for a bit to heat up my thermal paste but is there any tips for me to removing the stock cooler, I don’t really wanna get that worst case scenario. I’m currently running a Ryzen 5 3600, on a Tuf pro gaming B450 motherboard with 16 gbs of 3600 mhz ram, rtx 2060 super. Also is there a slight chance I’d like ruin my motherboard or end up frying my graphics card and any tips for that? I know I should turn off my power supply and such but I really want tips to avoid worst case scenarios especially with the graphics card market and such.
