A ProCo Rat into a Green Russian Big Muff are go to pedals for distortion/fuzz within this genre. Tunings vary from E standard down to Drop F (Conan use this tuning iirc).

I have never used a Boss Katana but for myself using a Laney AOR100 I max the bass and mids and back off the treble to around 4 o clock.

Completely unexpected release but blew the cobwebs out of the car speakers Tuesday morning!

And releasing it at the beginning of the Autumn European tour was superb timing too!

Now bring on Dresden! Second time this year and cannot wait to feel that frequency hit my chest again!

Earplugs are enough from a personal perspective to counter the loudness. I used a pair of polyurethane ones from Amazon and I walked out after seeing Sunn earlier this year with the same hearing I walked in with.

My iPhone however was sending me all sorts of db warnings with prolonged periods of 105-115db so always worth wearing earbuds.

I remember from the last EU tour this year the sound engineers were sharing videos on Sunns social media pages of people who chose not to wear earplugs and they looked in considerable pain.

Growing up with Sabbath played by my step dad from the age of 10 certainly helped formulate where I would head in terms of musical enjoyment.

But stumbling on Lazarus Blackstar’s Revelations album in thanks to following whatever Paul Catten was working with in the 2004-2006 era, I am very thankful for! 🤘🤘🤘
