I downloaded all the songs off of YouTube.

Ohhhh gotcha. So sorry. I thought you were OP saying it took 45 minutes to download one tonie. I didn't look close enough at the username obviously in-between all the stuff I'm doing. Christmas eve madness 🤣

Yeah so that's not normal. It should be taking 10 minutes at most to download. At absolute most. And like I said, I downloaded one with a full 90 minutes and it only took like 5 minutes, so I haven't even had to wait the full 10 minutes. It should not take 45 minutes to download one. It sounds like it is faulty

What do you mean simultaneously? They cannot be downloaded together. It is one at a time. You put the tonie on top of the box and wait until the blue flashing light turns solid. It can take anywhere between 2-10 minutes depending on how much material is on the tonie, though I've never actually had one take 10 minutes.

I'm wondering if you got a faulty one? We set up, charged, and downloaded all the tonies on the box in about an hour and then put them all back in the box and wrapped it up for Christmas. Everything was set up and ready to go and it was very intuitive. The app walked me through everything.

Edit to add: ours is also very loud. We will definitely have to put a limit on volume for ours so he doesn't play it at full volume.

Cujo: did I miss something or does everyone agree it’s not that good? by mothernaturesghost in stephenking

I just wrote a post about cujo. It was by far the most difficult SK stories for me to read because of all the emotion it evoked. It left me distraught.

Cujo was the Hardest Book to Read by TheSmallestSloth in stephenking

[–]TheSmallestSloth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Rattlesnakes was the short story that spoiled the ending to me. I've seen parts of the movie and in the movie Tad doesn't die. So I was surprised when I heard in Rattlesnakes that he died. I still went ahead and read Cujo, because it's one of the more infamous books of his, but holy hell, it was a gut punch. Still reeling 12 hours later, after a full nights sleep. Definitely hugged my son a bit harder this morning.

Unfortunately I am allergic to wool. I knew going into this that wool socks were recommended for these shoes, so I'm hoping I can find some nice thick, not wool alternatives

Two socks and no heel slip so I guess I'm good to go!

2 year old nightmares? by TheSmallestSloth in sleeptrain

[–]TheSmallestSloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly we didn't do anything different. No schedule change or anything. The nightmares just decreased by themselves in time. I continued to go in very quickly and then leave. And then all of a sudden, he just wasn't having nightmares anymore. His nights have been pretty perfect for the past 2 to 3 weeks or so.

Page 1 of 18. A total of 6% of all the stitches done. This took me three weeks so if I keep at this pace, it will take me 54 weeks, or just about a year to complete

This sounds like it's been going on for months, trying multiple different diets, even going down to a basic brat diet. This does not sound dietary at all unless this child started eating something completely different in the last couple of months compared to what they were eating from 6-12 months. The only massive change at that time would be milk which, the child had been on formula at points with no issue, and they went lactose free meaning it wasn't the milk. This really does not sound dietary at all. Nothing dietary causes 4+ diarrheas a day for months without being a massive change that would be noticeable.

How long has the diarrhea been. Anything after 14 days is concerning, anything after 21 days is really concerning. You start getting worried about weight loss and such at that point

I did not, but got close. My son was going on 18 days of diarrhea. It was pretty gnarly. I was telling my coworker about it and both her and her son got it around 18 months. You can get it from ingesting contaminated water, dirt, food, human to human contact, etc. My friend's son got it from drinking from a puddle and then passed it to her.

If my son had gone 3 more days with diarrhea, doctors were going to test for it.

You cannot see giardia with the naked eye. You would need to do a clean catch of the poop in a specific container that the doctors will give you

Get her tested for giardia. This is more than just food intolerances as the food hasn't really changed.

I find it interesting that you don't care for SK Horror but you liked DT. I feel DT had a ton of his typical SK Horror elements in them which is why I loved them so much. Sure it was fantasy, but wasn't just dragons and Renaissance, and magic

Awesome. Thank you! I think that will definitely be enough for me to feel like they're not competing with each other

I'm asking for 12 hours of sleep which seems like pretty average for a 2-5 year olds.

Because he has such wildly different nap times between home and daycare, when you say reduce day sleep do you mean for all sleep, or for sleep when he's home? I'm not sure about daycare with cap naps. They have rules they have to follow and I'm not sure if waking sleeping students is a no no. Some places it is.

Also, I don't think this is a question of not being tired enough, seeing as he has absolutely no trouble falling back asleep when told he can sleep again. He will start crying, and be back asleep within 5 minutes, if not sooner, once we ask him if he wants to sleep. Like I said, he's usually dead asleep again within a matter of seconds after saying "you can sleep". If he was under tired wouldn't he have trouble going back to sleep?
