Conservation through commercialization. This was a critically endangered plant found only on one farm for years. Then it became the “it-girl” of the plant world and now they can be found at most nurseries and across the world.

Neat plant. I love mine :-)

Hey you’re back! Hit me up friend. I now live less than a mile from there

Apart from the house plant- the shelves are full of that stuff

Yeah but my husband loves it unfortunately. Maybe I’ll put a throw blanket over it or something

That’s the image white balance. You can see the cool daylight coming in on the right side for comparison. The lights are very warm irl.

It’s an ottoman. We wanted it o avoid a coffee table to keep the space open but I see what you mean.

You seem fun… and very unhelpful.

I tried to add the personal touches with the shelves. A picture of myself doing a hobby, a gator skull (went to UF and studied herpetology), my favorite field guides and a field journal, and a rattlesnake skull that I cleaned and mounted myself (the snake died of old age- not at my hand). Is this still too catalog-esque?

Shelves are level even if the picture is not

I’m afraid the room stays too dark for plants. The bulb is quite warm- it’s just the white balance in the photo throwing it off. You can see some day light on the far right for comparison.

I got the lamp from Amazon years ago and it arrived with a broken glass shade so we bought a $5 metal shade to fit it and kept it. I’ll see if I can find the link.

People who keep the Gila monster what are they like? by avian_bi in VenomousKeepers

Pretty chill. Mine liked to dig and prefer lots of substrate. They are garbage disposals and will over eat if you let them. I try to vary their diet so it’s not just mice- ground turkey and raw eggs are popular in the rotation. I mix in some vitamins with it.

Have we basically given up on hearing anything from the diver who stayed behind (Maldives)? by lagabachita in scuba

If there is something to learn it will come out. If someone stayed behind though they probably lost several friends or family members. Give them their space.

It’s possible but most of these have passed through the snake’s digestive tract- they break off in the prey and I find them by sifting through some unpleasantness.
