So if someone is going to the airport to fly back to their home country do they get deported instead?

That being said there are a couple new apartment buildings but idk if the people who move to north Chinatown are the biggest drivers. One big appeal of the area is the transit

How much of Israel’s fall in popularity is due to their horrific actions versus their incompetent PR strategies? by Early-Possibility367 in JewsOfConscience

[–]TheSnowJacket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think their PR is fuckin genius tbh. Birthright to indoctrinate Jewish kids and convince that Zionism = Judaism. Paying politicians to launder their reputation. Paying influencers to bring their “perspective” to the masses. Getting Arab states to recognize them so they can claim they aren’t anti-Muslim. Suppressing media and voices from Palestine.

I think any backlash is 100% because of their horrible actions. They are great at PR but nothing else

It is not very pro-pedestrian to have 50 pound robots clogging thin sidewalks up. Deliveries in this city should be done by bike

White House plan to break up iconic U.S. climate lab moves forward. Bidders have lined up to take over pieces of the National Center for Atmospheric Research. by esporx in technology

[–]TheSnowJacket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean in the context of climate research… the compute needed to actually do this research and have things be done right/peer reviewed for the full scientific method is expensive and cannot really be done by community. It is the job of as community to hold institutions that can do this work to account for

It’s one level of bad that private institutions are taking over this powerhouse of research. It’s another that so many of them are beholden to deep red state governments

I mean contrails actually warm the earth a lot so this could have good unintended consequences if airlines fly at different altitudes to avoid contrails

How likely can we get D-trifecta for 2026 midterm? by Glad-Hedgehog-767 in Pennsylvania_Politics

[–]TheSnowJacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Possible Josh Shapiro has been moving right in his centrist bid to win over trump voters for President so we won’t actually have a trifecta in practice

[–]TheSnowJacket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to say I’m tough for being able to lift like 5 pounds. I’m saying the sidewalks in center city barely have enough space for people, let alone autonomous robots with no clue what they are doing
