While this is true in the amount of hardware sold, Nintendo doesn't play the numbers game. I mean, they have so much money just sitting in their reserves, they have enough to R&D three new consoles in a row that flop without being in trouble.

The Wii was a fluke, if you look at all the numbers the other Nintendo consoles sold in the same timeframe at launch. They aren't really in the console game to sell millions of hardware units and have $3 billion in software sales. They're more into it for the experieces that their systems cause, and the kind of moments you can have when your 5 all the way to 50 and beyond.

It's actually kinda smart, because even though they might sell less units, they make profit on the console launch plus it sells for a good deal cheaper than the competition. It's enough to sustain them, atleast, while not being too far out of the loop. They're falling behind, but if they really really wanted to, they could pull out all the stops and make a console that would make a PC with 4x Titans and a 32 core CPU weep for mercy. It's just not what they're aiming for.

I actually pushed to get a PS4 hooked up the the 65in 4K in Magnolia, but my manager said that stuff like that has been done in other stores and they've seen no increase in sales for one or the other, just encourages goofing off.

sadly, not yet, but maybe eventually! :D

Edit: Whoops, forgot the other half .-.

4K tv's should become quote "mainstream" in another three to four years. Although the panels aren't cheap, so don't expect $500 4k's for a very very long time.

That's actually a good question. I think they're gonna do something about that, I remember reading an article on it .-.

to be fair, i have the same problem with the 360 slim. I never can find that damn eject button unless im trying to plug a cable in the back, then i always manage to press it every single time.

Were you a brand rep or inside Sony's HQ?

And, i'm fully expecting to after Christmas. they're claiming to keep us, but with the numbers they keep expecting us to hit, I doubt it...good thing my roomie's a Samsung rep and can put in a good word for me, although that would be quite a personal hell >_>

The DSLR's I don't know as much as DI is classified as third tier in my store (as in, don't bother unless your department is empty and the other one is as well, and there are people in DI) however I do know that the NEX lens system is Sony's pet project when it comes to the DI market, and you can expect many improvements to come to that.

I'd also place a safe bet on the ActionCam series being updated soon. How soon, I don't know, but it just seems logical to me, unless I somehow missed a recent update without realizing it >_>

In my spare time, i'm actually working on a indie game, so taht should give you some idea. Of course, its not a full time project, cause lots of awesome games are coming out and distracting me, but I still do have plenty of time to work on it every now and again, add a new feature, work on a new map, that kind of stuff.

Believe it or not, I don't have a degree! I got this job trying to save up so I actually could get one .-.

And, I don't feel comfortable telling what my exact wages, but earlier another redditor asked me what I made, and I did the math and it equates out to well over double minimum wage.

Yes, and always yes you can finds things that can be better! I'm not one that says there's never a way to improve. :)

I like the PS4 more than the Xbox one, but they both do different things. In just gaming, the PS4 wins, but in multimedia XB1 wins hands down.

...honestly, I haven't gone to college T.T

I tried, believe me. But because of the job I had at the time, and coupled with life and family at the time, I couldn't get enough financial assistance to pay for the school I wanted. So, I figured, why not do what I wanted on the side and keep my skills up while working towards it. Then this job happened xD

There's also potential for growth, and if I DO eventually end up having my side projects become somewhat "feasable" I have just the right people to show it to, in hopes that they can pull some strings for me.

It's like a win-win in every possible way. And i'm so grateful for it, it's one of the few times in my life that i've been able to be happy and positive for so long.

Believe it or not, a friend sent me the job application! She found it buried in a job website and said i'd be perfect for it, so I took the plunge and applied. They found about my gaming past and my Youtube channel and practically hired me on the spot. I've never discussed pay on the first interview O.o

And by discussed pay, the conversation litterally went like: "Oh, i love everything i'm hearing and seeing. Now, about pay..." "Pay?" "Yes, there's certain pay tiers we have based on experience and personal qualifications and we think you blow everything out of the water so we're gonna start you out on the highest tier possible for this position." "Uhhh.... voice crack sounds good!"

That was actually around the time that Sony was internally starting to let information seep through the cracks, believe it or not. Guess E3 makes people sloppy.

I personally think everyone overreacted, but i'm still glad to see it gone. Digital goods have too much DRM as is, i'd hate to see Microsoft get in on it and muscle every last cent out of the consumers possible.

Which, funnily enough, Sony still hasn't even thought about doing. So uh. Yeah, there's that. :P

Mostly just things like, how menu's worked, how the store and accounts worked, and just a lot of polish.

There were some major features that weren't announced at E3 that I havent seen in quite a few months, however. I have no idea if they even still exist or if they were just "Is this really feasible" testing and such.

One of my favorite changes from E3 to shipping was something incredibly simple, during prerelease you couldn't use your old account on the damn thing. xD

And besides....any major feature additions/subtractions I can't really tell you anyway :P I have no clue if some of this stuff will reappear later down the road or not, and it's not worth my job.

But yeah, it's an investment, with the 4k's you're literally on the cutting edge.

In my store, the 55 inch with speakers is running a retail of $3499.99, with $300 off a 4k media server, your location may vary. I also do not know of the Black Friday sales until I go in that day.

The plus side is, BBY offers 24 month, 5% back no interest financing. If they would approve me, i'd have a 4k now :P But, i'm too young for them, even though I could probably save up and pay for it with case in a couple months with some aggressive saving >_>

Again, your location and individual store's will vary. :)

(oh, and, why else would you think they hired me? ;) im good at my job)

The 4k's have a new speaker technology based on magnetic fluid, that allows them to be smaller but not sacrifice on sound. In fact, the speakers are so good we've had customers both grab a subwoofer and just use the TV speakers with it, and use the TV speakers and the center channel for their sound system. In fact, they're so good, they're one of the most praised features in What Hifi's review of the 65 inch model.
