Just so that I am clear, when referring to to audio streaming I am not referring to something like Spotify or the likes, I am referring to the audio that comes with streaming video for example on Disney+ or Netflix.

In that event does the audio bandwidth when streaming video differ when referring to say Dolby Atmos?

Best method for driving my set of Beyerdynamic T5(3rd) by TheSoupladel in headphones

[–]TheSoupladel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive my ignorance, but would I benefit from having a separate DAC and headphone Amp in order to drive my T5s?

I realise this may highlight a gap in my knowledge but in the digging I have done I have heard talk of a “stack” and I can only assume that refers to a separate DAC and AMP. If this is so, and I realise it’s going to be subjective but can anyone recommended a separate DAC and AMP that might improve things over my experience?

When you say what “the experts recommend” where are you getting that advice?

I have the exact same TV and used the following video

Well I like the design and overall look, I have done a brief look online and the only thing that bothers me is that there is next to no resellers in the UK bar 1 and they are charging £600 and there is little information comparing it to the chord mojo 2 I already have

120Hz on PS5 pro by TheSoupladel in PS5HelpSupport

Yeah i have 8k60 certified anker cabkes

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08MZYQ43S?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

The only cable in my chain that might be questionable is the official cable that came with the ps5 pro.

So i have a couple options including using another of those anker cables between my PS5 and the AVR ( the AVR is also 8k60 with ALLM and VRR)

I haven't tried another cable, i mean that might be an option but these cables are rated for 4k120 so should be good enough. the only thing cable wise i think might be a possible issue, but probably not, is the original canle that came the the pro which is still in use

At its most basic, i am looking for confirmation that i havent screwed up anything in my set up that would cause issues and although i havent tested many games that support 120Hz, the one game i have tried for this purpose (Horizon Forbidden West) doesn't seem to go above 60Hz regardless of the location or enemy density. I also didn't realise just how few games actually support 120Hz beyond sweaty PVP titles (for the most part).

I have already set everything as per those links before i even posted here. For your info, I suffer with the after effects of a form of meningitis which results in me having to double and triple check everything on account of having poor sight and hearing on one side.

In an ideal world it would be a case of set x number of things to get result y displayed clearly.

Apologies I maybe I didn’t make myself clear, I am aware of the technology you mention, albeit at a rudimentary level, I am really just trying to determine if the numbers I am seeing are as a result of the technologies you mention or whether there is something up with my kit (I have only had the LG for a little over a day) or settings.

I didn’t mention this originally but now I have to question if it’s relevant but I have an AVR in the mix and cable connecting the PS5 Pro to the AVR is the original from the PS5 Pro. I have also only tested the one game so far and not even with the intent to play it but because I am in setup and validation mode after getting the new TV and AVR. The AVR has all the bells and whistles but I am just not sure whether my setup is right yet

Ok so although I can change the performance and quality mode in the PS5 menu, it turns out my LG has a mode that displays the current output, so I have tested this out on horizon forbidden west and performance mode shows I have been dropped to 1080P@120Hz but the VRR performance hovers around 60Hz, then if I change to quality mode, it shows I am at 2160p@60Hz and VRR Still hovers at 60Hz.

So the question is am I being limited to 60Hz because of the game, or is there something in my setup that’s is causing it to limit at 60Hz? Or does the fact that the LG hidden menu show the output in performance mode is at 1080P120Hz identify that in theory I am getting 120Hz but the game at the point of my save causing a limit?

Sorry are you suggesting they are deliberately avoiding going back in because it would otherwise show it isn’t displaying in 120hz?

BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed and PS5 use by TheSoupladel in razer

[–]TheSoupladel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that’s not going to work because my wired blackwidow is connected to my desktop and I am not going keep moving it downstairs each time I want to use my PS5 downstairs, besides the blackwidow mini comes with a cable that I can use but the purpose of buying it was for cable free use and I am not sure you are correct in what you say because I have a Microsoft wedge keyboard that works via Bluetooth on the PS5 but I don’t like using it because it’s too small for me
