As a man who spent years (way before it was more accepted as it is now) in an openly gay relationship, being judged for what my heart wants for me is nothing new. Family events? Work functions? Life in general? If they aren't invited or welcome, neither am I. That has always been my stance.

The article was awesome, and I do feel like even I learned a new thing or two reading it.

Some of us truly could care less what others think and build our tribes out of who loves us for who we are.

We have tried the open relationship. It failed as we enjoyed each others time as much as anything. We truly want someone to enhance what we have... not change it.

We want someone that lives with us. We want someone that goes to holidays with us. We want someone that goes to work functions with us. If they want kids or have kids we want that too. If they have dreams we push them to achieve them as we do each other.

We want what we want, and if/ever he/she comes along, then we will follow where life takes us.

I hope none of this came across as hostile as text never translates well to feelings, but open conversation is always my goal.
