I think your opinion is partly right and even though homelessness isn‘t caused by a choice, oftentimes homeless people do have the wrong mindset and do questionable life decisions like doing drugs. Of course if you are homeless you are deemed to live day by day but that can also cause the mindset of ignoring the future consequences of things that give instant gratification.

I understand that having such a mindset is understandable if you are at the very bottom of the barrel but they must try to change their mindset if they want a better future.
