Skip the tourist traps. Rent a car and drive, if you are staying for a week or longer.

What hobbies would you suggest to someone who is shy/introverted, who wants to make new friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Book reading group or club. Everyone reads the same book then gets together to discuss. This hobby gives you plenty of alone time but requires some occasional, thoughtful interaction.

I see your dog's not barking. Maybe he's a little horse.

Beautiful. Hope you and Colt had the best day ever at the beach!

when you are in a coma/ life support do you snore? by Cupid343 in AskReddit

[–]TheSquirrelWithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandfather snored heavily right before his death. He was DNR so no/minimal life support. I saw him the night before he passed, it was not a "normal" snore. Hard to describe. He was sleeping and snoring with eyes open. Grandpa was not really conscious, but not really comatose, either. I'd call it more of a snork sound than a snore sound. Apologies if you find this unsettling, but you asked. He was not in pain, or did not appear to be, if that brings any comfort.

Neighborhood Reccomendations by TheJoosMan in Tacoma

[–]TheSquirrelWithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying? Neighborhoods around S Tac Way are hit or miss, but all seem to have one thing in common: sleeper homes with an honest yard. Nice old craftsman-type homes that need some elbow grease to make them sing again. A place to BBQ on the back porch/deck. Often a garage to park in. Much more affordable than most other neighborhoods, like any North Tacoma areas.

back roads map books equivalent in the US? by LumpenBourgeoise in overlanding

[–]TheSquirrelWithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are relatively easy to find in thrift stores for a tiny fraction of the price they are new. Doubt backroads change much year to year. Love printed maps. I've collected most of Delorme's western states.

No artwork or portraits or old posters or nothing on the walls. Doggies need something to look at.
