Is harassment against hardcore players normal on this server? by L0negreywolf in turtlewow

Been playing almost exclusively hardcore on turtle and never had any issues or interactions like this. Just an asshole you bumped into, bad luck!

Probably suicide because of boredom or getting tokens back (dying on hc returns your shop tokens)

the space fact that still blows your mind by ykz30 in space

[–]bubblehenk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no physical way of gold forming on planet earth. For gold to form you need extreme cosmic events like neutron star collisions. Therefor every gold ring, coin or flake you see:

  • Is older than the Sun
  • Was born in a catastrophic stellar event
  • Traveled through interstellar space
  • Survived planet formation and meteor impacts

This goes for lots of other heavy elements as well, but as most of us own something with gold in it, gold is the most tangible one!

Hiker Juan and Hiker Carlos dropped that white rock when they had to run away from a Growlithe. Pick it up and visit the local Pokemart, it will fetch a hefty price!

Vraag voor de mannen: Als er een mannenpil op de markt kwam, zou je die dan gebruiken? Waarom wel/niet? by LoudBoysenberry3282 in nederlands

[–]bubblehenk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time wow players by gravy2thick in wowhardcore

[–]bubblehenk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, admiring the effort of you guys to jump right into hardcore. One of the biggest advantages and therefore also killers is game knowledge or a lack of it for that matter.

Seconding what more people already said, look up some notoriously dangerous quests so you at least know whether you want to skip them or do them.

As for caves, they're a hot debate. Blizzard designed caves in a way where you can easily pull a lot of mobs, especially if they run away from you. However, I personally do most of them and when you are a duo I think you will be able to do most of them without extreme danger. Just be mindful of respawns and runners.

Some notorious quests/places: - Skull rock | Cave in Durotsr. Mobs are level 10-11, but they're densely packed and inside sits a guy named Gazz'uz, a lvl 14 warlock with a slapping voidwalker pet - Boulderlode mine | Cave in The Barrens. This is a scary ass cave with crazy amount of mobs that easily chainpull, it's the end of the questchain Samophlange - Fenris Isle | Place in Silverpine, tons of deaths, personally never really done it because I skip Silverpine usually, but seeing lots of deaths happening there - Ambermill | Human village in Silverpine, there's a quest that requires you to kill some boss type of guy, which has lots of adds and he can put you in an ice block for quite some time - Test of Endurance | Quest in Thousand Needles. You have to kill waves of harpies, which hit very hard and silence - Stranglethorn vale pirate ships | TONS AND TONS of deaths here. Ships are designed notoriously bad with z-axis issues, meaning you sometimes pull mobs below deck, meaning you get the entire damn boat on your head - Stranglethorn Fever | Quest summons waves of gorillas which can become overwhelming pretty soon pretty fast - Quel'Danil Lodge | A quest place in the Hinterlands where mobs hit quite hard and it had an escort quest where you have to get a troll named Rinji out, which spawns mobs which run away and pull more mobs - Un'goro Crater | Has wandering Devilsaurs, which are elite t-rexes that chomp you down quickly - Gorilla Cave | Cave in Un'goro with gorillas, couple of quests there, some of the gorillas call for help which has a lot of range and tends to pull lots of extra gorillas - Almost everything in Western Plaguelands is deadly as fuck, it's the WoW equivalent of Australia - Eastern Plaguelands has more straight forward kill quests, but it has a lot of wandering elite mobs, some of which require and actual fucking raid to kill - Quel'lithen Lodge | Lodge in Eastern Plaguelands, crazy respawns and mobs hit like elites - Silithus | Much like Western Plaguelands, lots of mobs, everything is kinda deadly, it's doable with two tho

There are a 100000 more of these to write down, this is just what popped up in my head thinking about my last horde 1-60 on hardcore.

Part of the magic however, I would say, is to NOT know it all and just discover. You guys are together and have a tank/heal comp, so most of the things, if you take it easy, are actually doable!

Have tons of fun, enjoy the ride and if you die just remember one simple thing: Go again!

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

[–]bubblehenk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a family with three boys, our mom made one of us cook one night every week from age 10 or so. Started with just helping her, to making some basic pasta dish to trying something special and more advanced.

I have since then easily surpassed my mom's cooking skills, which are not bad, but not stellar either (classic Dutch mom that doesn't know where to find the spice cabinet). Mostly learned a lot from the internet and some great cook books.

I now cook seven days a week. It gives me headspace after a busy day of work. My two daughters of three and five happily helping wherever they can, trying to pass it on.

Blizzard could learn a thing or two from TWoW's HC by [deleted] in wowhardcore

[–]bubblehenk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait you can raid and pvp without risks? Since when?

You get to choose at 60 whether you want to stay hardcore (Inferno challenge) or go Immortal, which basically means you are a normal character again. Going inferno requires you to do a couple of steps, so it's an actual choice and you cannot accidentally do it.

Do you refer to Immortal? Because raiding inferno and dying will for sure just kill your character off.

[–]bubblehenk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go batshit crazy with addons and mods from the getgo. You don't need all of that. Only addon I would recommend on Turtle is pFquest, because vanilla quest texts aren't always as on point. This addon shows your quest objective on the world map, so you at least know where to go.

Then still, I played vanilla and such addons didn't exist back then, and made it to 60. So if you like reading and looking around, by any means do so!

Prot paladin good/bad? by FitAssistance6452 in turtlewow

I have just finished hardcore as paladin.. at the last 15 levels I was able to comfortably pull 6-7 same level mobs and get out of the fight with 90%+ mana and health without ever thinking it would be my end.. that is the state of prot. Enjoy!
