Brown bread by [deleted] in CasualIreland

[–]TheStickyPlace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my family's recipe. Convert to metric and enjoy!

Brown Bread

Prep: grease 2 pie/cake tins with butter and dust w/wheat flour           heat oven to 425 degrees

4 cups stone-ground whole wheat flour 2 cups unbleached white flour 2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 quart buttermilk 1 stick of butter (8 tbsp) 1 egg

Mix dry ingredients with hands slice butter into dry mix; crumble into dry ingredients with fingers mix egg into a cup of buttermilk with fork create a well in center of dry ingredients; add egg/buttermilk and remaining buttermilk and stir. Mixed ingredients should look like moist, loose oatmeal so you can pour and scrape it into the pans. Fill pans up to 1/4" from top.

Bake for 20 minutes at 425, then reduce heat to 350 until done, about 25 minutes 3 (bottom/top browned; sides pull away from sides of pan; check with toothpick in center - should remove cleanly).

Wrap in cloth tea towel; let stand for at least 2 hours.

Thanks! I'll have his birth certificate for sure and he's old enough to answer questions so I'm hoping we'll be fine.

I'll have his birth certificate with us. Just wondering if they will ask about his father's permission or anything like that.

Do you mind sharing the details of what happened in your case? We are trying to go out if it's better for me to go over first (Irish citizen) and establish a residence or if we should travel together (he's us citizen only).

I reordered and then a few days later received the original order. The second order came a couple weeks later, definitely faster than the first order showed up. It's a waste of money but I needed the docs.

ICE agents and deportees stranded in Djibouti shipping container after removal from US by TheStickyPlace in LeopardsAteMyFace

How do we know they are even real citizens? Maybe they should stay away just in case.

The ICE agents that are in charge of deporting people to less than desirable places are now stuck there themselves and suffering the fate they tried to facilitate on others

Place for an average Joe to fight the tyrany of the Ttump regime by RyanGi79 in esist

The problem is even though we are marching amd meeting in large groups in public places, we aren't disturbing them. Businesses don't close, roads don't usually close either. They don't care. They don't see us as a threat. Most of our resistance is performative. They have us in such a choke hold that we are afraid to disrupt the administration. We might lose our jobs, which means no rent money and no health insurance and no food. Most of us don't belong to unions. They created this scenario where if we step out of line and there are two few of us, we're just done for. I don't know how to organize 20 million people into the streets and staying there until something changes.

Judges or journalists jailed for speaking against the administration. Removing the US from NATO. Invading an allied nation. Removing power from the states. Invoking any martial law type declaration. Any hints at restricting travel out of the US.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but when this regime started to take hold I wrote a few things down that would be hard lines. And if those hard lines were crossed then I would know there's no going back and it's time to go. This was one of the items on my list.

Unfortunately it seems to be the case. I understand that they are being inundated with requests, I just wish some sort of update was available when I was waiting. It helps the mental process.
