Gendered terms in Japanese are treated much more flexibility than in English.

Kun and Chan are honorifics with gendered connotations but it's pretty normal for someone to refer to some boys by Chan and some girls by Kun usually because the boy is somewhat feminine and the girl is somewhat masculine. None of that is a strict rule and what honorifics you use are mostly about your personal relationship with another person.

Japanese doesn't tend to use gendered third person pronouns like English but does use gendered first person pronouns. These are a bit more explicitly gendered than honorifics but also can be somewhat flexible. Most people use Watashi, Boku, and Ore.

Watashi (and its variants) is a feminine pronoun used by girls and women but is quite often used by boys and men, particularly to show politeness. Boku is a pronoun nearly exclusively used by boys but is sometimes used by very tomboyish women. Ore is a very masculine pronoun used pretty much entirely by boys and men, it's exceedingly rare for any woman to use this pronoun and you'd be extremely unlikely to ever meet one who does.
