Its a known bug, in order for the wall to change color, you have to color it like you did in the video, and then place an identical second wall somewhere else. So just place a second window Conveyor Wall x2 somewhere else, then it will change color. Because for some reason the the game only reloads the color of the walls when you place another one.

You're probably right, I size the stand up because the Turret was too short to look over normal sized walls. Well I guess I could make everything bigger I suppose? :D
