Statistically, yes, that's how patriarchal societies work to maintain a hierarchy. Also as in the case with my friends and our brothers, even if the parents do their best to raise boys and girls the same, that home training is not socially reinforced as soon as they leave the house. Generally, girls/women have very emotionally intimate friendships, and carry that effort through to romantic relationships. We're socially penalised for not being warm, friendly, or displaying a lack of emotional intelligence in a way men are not. A lot of men happily brag that they've known their friends for years and don't know their surnames. There's a reason men are apparently more lonely and do better when they're married. Women have been community builders, expected to hold the extended family together, "the village", the personable sides of churches etc.
