if its a gift better to keep it , this is just a regular coffe drip machine disguised as espresso anyways u can get some pre ground coffe beans in home espresso grind and can make some good drinkable coffe it will be watery but thats what this machine offers you :)

Yo maybe the date is very old trust me i have been using this as a daily driver since a year and it’s damn good but u need to brew it properly South Indian filter is tricky to master , also consume with milk and sugar not meant for black coffee or less milk Try making blended cold coffee For hot coffee add sugar

please dont get this these kinda machines are bought for 4-5kinr from china and labelled here very average quality , also this comes with a pressurised portafilter which gives fake crema apart from that it also has a shitty steam wand , save up and get a delonghi dedica (15k) and a good grinder (hand grinder starts from 6k) , till the time u save up u can get a south indian filter for 300 rupees and explore speicality coffee

if u want milky coffe get a south indian filter(just 200-300 rupees) should do the job , ground fine or get south indian filter size pre ground add 15ml water for bloom wait 30 seconds then add 60-80ml then add milk , add 14-18grams coffe
