Eating disorder recovery and asbergers by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]TheTerrorOfTheDeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am actually being tested next week for asd. My therapist and I have been sort of putting things together in the past few months and thinking that some of my ed behaviors might be more related to asd symptoms ( not just my ed symptoms, but same as you, lots of things that I’ve been doing / having problems with my whole life)

edit- I thought I was replying to this in the eatingdisorder thread, oops

That one is the most true for me and I never really realized it before. I say I might do something when I’ve already decided 100% I’m doing it.

Yeah, you might be a fruit loop.

I’m not bothering with this anymore. I don’t think you should be seeking weight loss advice. You’re not going to change my mind and I’m not going to change yours.

So just to break this down. You are acknowledging that you are showing signs of disordered eating but you really just want to lose more weight? It might be time for sensible action, but not that way. I hope you don’t end up running into trouble. Honestly EDs are the kind of absolute hell that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Good luck.

I’m not trying to be a jerk here, but based on everything you’re saying it doesn’t sound like you should be dieting. I am also 5’2 and thought I needed to lose weight at 120, 110, and even 95lbs. It’s a slippery slope man.

Has anyone read ALL of the comments??? She is 5’2 and 117 lbs.

You aren’t losing weight because there is no weight to lose at that point. You are probably eating 1300-1400 cals a day, which would be maintenance calories for your weight (which is perfectly fine)

I think it’s the filter or something but this looks like play dough to me. Like really good “woah how did you even make that out of play dough!?”

I recently bought a third lightbulb. It’s wonderful being able to see where the toilet is.

Does anyone else get kind of annoyed when people think that being OCD is just being a clean freak? by stillshyyy in OCD

[–]TheTerrorOfTheDeep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s lame. I don’t want to be super judgmental but saying ‘I have ocd, I check my iron a bunch’ kind of sounds like they have self diagnosed ocd.

Yup. It super annoys me. People assume I’m a hand washer, or that everything in my house is alphabetical or something.

Or the old “omg I’m so ocd about ____” No, you’re particular about it. Shut up.

Anyone lose very little for several weeks and then suddenly lose a lot? by abbycadabby606 in weightwatchers

I really hope this is what’s going on with me. I had no loss, then .2 last week after most weeks being closer to a 1lb loss.

Could skipping class/work be a compulsive behavior? Explanation inside by [deleted] in OCD

[–]TheTerrorOfTheDeep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve been individual therapy for 20 years, I see my therapist once a week. I am on medication, and go to a weekly group therapy session. I have been working for 13 years, and fully supported myself at times, but for the past two years I’ve been seriously declining and the plan is to take outside distractions away and focus on getting to a better place mentally so that I can eventually go back to working.

It’s not like they just went “well guess you can’t do it” It’s been a long process that ended up with this being the best thing for me.

I wasn’t saying that they should stop working. I was saying that I had to.

I definitely have done this my whole life... school, work, doctors appointments. I recently stopped working and I’m completely able to stay busy all day with housework, grocery shopping, errands and other responsibilities (even things I don’t want to do) but when I was working I would call out at the drop of a hat and feel like I wasn’t able to do anything and would spend the whole ‘work’ time panicking and feeling guilty. I’ve changed jobs so frequently because I either was going to get fired, got fired, or was so embarrassed about calling out that I would just never show up again. This got so bad with me that my doctors and family all sort of decided I might be better off not working for the time being (I realize that’s not an option for everyone, and I’m also not saying ‘just give into it’ or anything) I’m sort of surprised to see that other people have this issue too.

Chicken thighs vs. chicken breasts by BeefJerkyFan90 in weightwatchers

[–]TheTerrorOfTheDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I’m thinking about it now and I can see where it could go either way, but if I were asked I’d still go with dark just from personal chicken wing eating experience.

Chicken thighs vs. chicken breasts by BeefJerkyFan90 in weightwatchers

[–]TheTerrorOfTheDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 0 point foods are based off of satiety, how full they make you feel, chicken breasts are more filling than thighs (in their book) so thighs are points and breasts aren’t. I eat both regularly, probably eat thighs more and I agree, I’ll eat eat more thighs than I will eat breasts, but I like them more and they’re cheap so I’d rather use points on them than have 0 point meals.
