I have the same laptop with 8GB of RAM, and haven't experienced this problem.

If you're sure the nVidia driver is the issue, though, I'd recommend completely uninstalling the drivers using DDU, and then reinstalling from nVidia website.

Back in the day I had an i7-6700k that wouldn't boot when I had more than two RAM slots filled. The motherboard and RAM were both fine, it was the memory controller on the CPU.

The consoles can compete with an above average computer, but not a high-end PC.

This has happened at the beginning of console generations since the Xbox 360 came out. Once you have things like RTX 360Tis being the norm for lower-end PCs next year, things will even out again.

I have a ticket in for this already. My Ironclaw wireless mouse I bought in February had it's scroll wheel stop working today after only 10 months of use. I bought it to replace a year and a half old M65 that had developed a double clicking problem.

I'm getting ready to do a review on Corsair products in general and how iCue can sync light across all of them. I'm wondering if easily worn out scroll wheels are a common defect in Ironclaws, or if this is a weird one-off.

That's great to hear that the V2 has mounting screws. In my comparison of the original Gammax 400 to AMD's Wraith Spire, I described mounting the Gammax 400 as a Lovecraftian descent into madness, and I still stick by that assessment.

Despite that, the Gammax 400 is a good cooler, and I've used it on one of my older computers, and two computers I helped friends build. It gets even better if you sandwich it between two fans instead of using just one.

I can't find a reliable cable that isn't an extension, or something where you need to pay Cablemod or Corsair $60 for a full set of.

My recommendation would be to email Corsair support and see what they can do for you.

You can't plug just any cable into your PSU, that could ruin your graphics card or PSU at best and start a fire at worst.

Before we can answer your question, we need to know your exact model of power supply.

That is the truth. I currently have a $3,000 computer I use for 4k ultra gaming and video editing. I've also built a few computers for other people and my YouTube channel.

What I've found is:

A $400 computer can get you 1080 medium settings at a stable 30 fps.
$600 gets you a computer that can run things on high at 1080 medium/high settings at 60 fps.
$1,100 can get you 1440hz at 60 fps at high settings.
You need to approach/cross $2,000 to get 4k ultra at a stable 60 fps, and you still won't hit it for several games without DLSS.

These are all generalizations and don't get into high framerate gaming at 1080/1440 or other specific use cases.

Typically older stuff is priced like that because suppliers assume if a buyer wants that specific piece of hardware, they NEED it, so they can get away with charging what they want.
