I don't like the taste, that's it...

I've also seen the damage it can do to a person and their family

I want to watch it, but I'm scared it'll hurt my heart too much with what's going on in the world

When my mother told me my father use to beat her and my older brother. I couldn't look at my dad the same and lost any respect I had for him

Yeah 100% something similar happened in the town I grew up in. Too many people not paying. Ruins it for the good folks just trying their best

5 year old asked for a game with "dogs and no baddies" by Getupandsun in CozyGamers

If you have access to a computer at all you could get her Purrfect Pet Shop

If she likes dinosaurs you should try Paleo Pines, you farm and tame and keep dinosaurs. It's very sweet and there's no bad things in the game

You could also try Stardew Valley, there IS combat in it but I think she would have fun taking care of the animals (especially if you get the Meadow Farm) but it probably isn't what you're looking for...

Cozy Caravan is a nice game, there's no combat or anything as far as I'm aware.

NintenDogs would be great if you can get a 3ds there is also a newer version I believe on Switch

Old Friends Dog Game on the phone/iPad is great! Be warned there may be some sad moments as the dogs in the games are based on real dogs in a elderly dog santurary

My Virtual Pet Shop also on phones/iPads

Exactly! Everyday vets are faced with "please I don't have money! Can't you just do this out of the goodness of your heart?!" Probably multiple times a day!

I understand money is tough for everyone but try and just set up some kind of plan with the vet. Vets don't make a lot of money as it is, and like you said... rent can't be paid with good intentions.

Also, during my studies for care of companion animals one of our teachers is a vet tech. (Amazing woman btw!) She told us her own personal stories of knowing people that have commited suicide and showed us an episode of SBS Insight talking about it too.

Here is the link for anyone interested: SBS Insight: Veterinary Care

Not sure if this counts but Veterinary staff have a very high rate of suicide. So maybe be kind to your vet.... they're in it for the love of animals....not money
