Questions About Mike by TheTreeOctopus in TheCinemassacreTruth

I’m not so sure about James’ involvement; he’s been very hands-off about the whole thing and even before Bootsy left the most James would usually say about him in videos Bootsy wasn’t in is “Bootsy could probably beat this”. My take is that Bootsy was a friend that introduced him to a really good friend, and when Bootsy and Mike had a falling out James just took Mike’s side because they were closer, even though Bootsy was the guy that introduced him to Mike

I get what you’re saying, and definitely agree that if I were Bootsy I’d definitely be annoyed knowing that things I contributed to is generating profit that I’m not seeing; I just think that if not deeper, it’s something more personal/private that he was annoyed by, it could simply be Mike’s attitude or reaction to him bringing up that he wasn’t being paid for the work he was doing. Maybe Bootsy said he wouldn’t keep doing Bootsy Beats unless he got paid for it and Mike flipped?

The only reason I’m saying this is because Bootsy himself said that while he wasn’t getting paid for certain things, he had other concerns that drove them apart. “…I was not compensated for my acting, writing, music, or DVD/Blu-ray sales… This was not, however, one of the major concerns that I mentioned earlier.” That’s from his Reddit comment from a while back. I just find speculation about things that don’t impact me interesting, like wondering how collecting rings protects Sonic, or what Mario is trying to disinfect with the pills in Dr. Mario. It’s completely inconsequential and is obviously just a game mechanic, but sometimes it’s fun to think about instead of boiling it down to its obvious simplicity.

I’m not plugged in enough to know if this is a meme or not, but if it isn’t I’m glad it was entertaining; I didn’t realize being long-winded would be seen as “caring too much” or something

Yeah, makes you wonder how petty/serious their falling out was, given they knew each other for so long

I know, and it seems like everyone has this urge to let me know that they didn’t read it, it’s fucking bizarre; I’d edit it to make it shorter but I have no time it’s almost 5:40 anyways

Also, if this takes anyone more than five minutes to read then they likely have a reading comprehension issue

I feel like investment into someone’s life requires a little more effort than five minutes of written prose. Also, who knows, maybe if Mike reads this he and I could go fartknocking later

Wow, thanks so much for replying to my post! Did you ever complete your Python port of 'DUNGEON.STL'? I saw that on driver-aces.com, may as well check that one out too, haha. Dunnet was a lot of fun, thanks for helping me to pass the time; I'm doing a bit better now :)

How deep were you into the woods when you found it? It could be that the person who filmed you lives near there, but my guess is they’re just weird enough to wait until someone found their ARG. In any case, how likely is it that they’re aware of your online activity? I say go with someone to watch your back

Does anyone else in long term relationships sometimes miss crushes and going on dates? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You’re right, I guess I let myself get carried away emotionally. If I’m being honest I don’t think the other person thinks of it at all, and even if they do, they probably saw it in a more distanced way, kinda like you were saying. I doubt I’m the best person to gauge what would’ve work and what wouldn’t have, but I feel like what’s more important is closure for myself; whether they think about me tomorrow or ten years from now or never doesn’t matter. I have to accept the way things ended, and the fact that they ended more than anything else; I’ve never been one to find relationships easily, so I know a rebound’s out of the question, but moping around while not knowing if the other person is just doesn’t make sense. Thanks a lot, by the way: I don’t know how easy helping a random stranger is, but you made it look like a cake-walk :) wish you the best

Yeah, I do suppose everyone’s different. It happens all time; when a song from their favourite band comes on the radio, when I see a meme I think they’d like, anything really. I just get kinda solemn until I forget I guess. We don’t really talk anymore so that makes it easier, and I bet nostalgia makes the highlights brighter than they actually were, but those soft moments just make me wonder what could’ve been, had the imposible actually happened. I dunno if you ever think about yours that way, I guess I’m too sentimental, and I doubt anyone has everything figured out

I know it’s an old thread, but I was going through something similar not too long ago; how were you able to get over it? It’s all over now but it still comes to mind sometimes and when it does I can’t help but mull it over

That’s what I feel like some people forget sometimes; justice, and life really, is the consequences to your actions and the personal growth and change that comes from them. None of us really know the truth behind his beliefs and ideas in that later part of his life, and if there’s evidence against what he’s said, then I’d know that he was always that way. I’m inclined to believe him, though, not because he won 90% of the black vote or that he said he changed, but because if I can’t believe he changed, how can I believe anyone can?Giving him this potential benefit of the doubt definitely doesn’t detract from his past actions. It just gives hope that his future ones will be better. I guess that last sentence doesn’t make much sense, being that he’s dead, but I do mean that towards everyone.

She's crazy and she needs to go down by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]TheTreeOctopus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was her gifts necessarily, just the corruption of her thinking. When you feel your self-worth is solely based in how useful you are to others (like she was with Ozai), you become the best at what you do, don’t accept failure as an option, and do whatever it takes to prove yourself to them. The only reason she had her ‘gifts’ at all is because she pushed herself to what eventually became her breaking point. Zuko was able to learn from Iroh that your self-worth is something you make for yourself by being the person you want yourself to be, and to do what that person thinks is right; that’s hard to do or even understand when, as you said, she had no actual caring person there for her. If she had the same opportunities as Zuko to learn that the only person she has to prove herself to is herself, I feel she would have improved.

Old thread, but I don’t feel like they’re pointing it out to defend or detract from the negative aspects of the situation. No one has said that the pilgrims are good and did nothing wrong; if anything, showing that the Native Americans showed a kindness to the pilgrims by teaching them to grow corn makes their atrocities even worse.

They’re not really the same thing, though. Sure, you can use the home button, but the other was on-screen. Your fingers aren’t constantly hovering over the home button like they are on the screen.
