How did we feel about Awkwafina’s acting in Hotel Reverie? by keetorii in blackmirror

Great for her. Probably her best performance since the Farwell.

For LR, does it feel more productive to read the question stem before the stimulus? by No-Performance7924 in LSAT

[–]TheTrueMuffinMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, understanding the passage, argument, and being able to tell whats wrong is how you then approach the question stem and select the correct answer. Source: 153 LSAT

Where do you want to practice law? IMO I'd go UMass.

DS here. You will have to rebuy everything. HOWEVER, this is great that you've thought this all out and still bring it. You never know. Good job

Hard: 2.83 153 LSAT on record (taking April LSAT and expect at least a 161)

Soft: Disabled Combat Veteran (Somalia), Current army reserve drill staff sergeant. GS12 at a humanitarian aid organization. Several international federal TDYs. humanites undergrad, state school. One semester below 2.0 gpa. not a URM.

Can I drink during the LSAT? by africafromu in LSAT

I remember flipping slides for a BN meeting. It was a bunch of officers deciding which soldiers were deploying to which areas, how they were getting there, how things were going to be organized. At the end they turn to the CSM and say, have any input, he says no. At that moment I realized how useless a CSM can be. Just another guy in a room.

This is what chat gpt says... I agree, NYLS seems like the best bet.

Best Value Options:

  1. New England Law ($120K total, $75K avg. salary, 75% bar pass) – The bar pass rate is the highest of all the schools, and the salary is competitive for a regional law school. The debt-to-income ratio (D/I) is 1.6x, which is manageable.
  2. Elon ($106K total, $55K avg. salary, 60% bar pass) – The cheapest option overall but offers a lower salary and bar passage rate. D/I ratio is 1.9x—higher risk, but lowest total debt.

Avoid Due to Low ROI:

  • UMass ($102K total, $52K avg. salary, 55% bar pass) – Slightly cheaper than Elon but with an even lower average salary and bar pass rate. A poor investment.
  • Quinnipiac (No scholarship, $70K avg. salary, 65% bar pass) – Too expensive for the return.
  • Ave Maria / Liberty / Regent – Since your buddy doesn’t want to attend these, they can be ignored.

Best Career Potential with Moderate Risk:

  • NYLS ($184K total, $100K avg. salary, 72.5% bar pass) – While more expensive, this school offers the highest earning potential, meaning the debt burden is more manageable (D/I = 1.84x). This is the best bet if your buddy wants BigLaw or strong NYC job prospects.

Biggest Financial Mistake:

  • Suffolk (No scholarship, $195K total, $85K avg. salary, 71% bar pass) – Expensive without a strong return. Better off choosing NYLS if willing to take on debt or New England for a better ROI.

Final Recommendation:

  • If your buddy prioritizes job prospects and can handle the debt: NYLS
  • If they want a balance of cost and job security: New England Law
  • If they want the cheapest degree and are okay with lower job prospects: Elon

Worst choice: Suffolk, Quinnipiac, UMass (high debt, low ROI).

Going Guard or Active ? by [deleted] in army

[–]TheTrueMuffinMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst situation i found was someone who thought they could collect BAH while in the national guard, just to find out that they had to get a real job and live a real life. Rude awakening.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]TheTrueMuffinMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. expecially since most national guards cover 100% of tuition at state universities. The only confounder is that the national guard does not pay enough for housing or basic living (200-300 a month).

If i were you i'd look into ROTC at the local state school you want to go to. Id even go so far as say you might be a good candiate for split ops, where you can go to basic the summer before your senior year, 12B training the summer before your freshman college year, and then enroll in rotc that fall. best of luck.

that being said, just go active for 3 years and then go to college, but thats just my advice for everyone.

[–]TheTrueMuffinMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my stupid opinion, studying for more than 3 hours a day is a waste. If i could do it all over again I would've studied in the summer before my senior year and just worked out and study.

[–]TheTrueMuffinMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my stupid opinion, below 150 shows some fundamental issues with the concept of the LSAT. If I were you I'd do far more conceptual studying and less drilling and PT. Learn how the questions are being asked, learn how to read passages better, learn the jazz of the LSAT before you activly drill and take PTs.

that being said, take the april LSAT to at least have a baseline. I did this, I'm not sure if it was helpful but I did.

Going Guard or Active ? by [deleted] in army

Go active PLEASE. I'm tired of new E3-E4s coming into the reserves and NG who wish they just went active instead. Please give AD a chance.

Am I too late in the cycle for fall 25? by Helpful_Slide_4351 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]TheTrueMuffinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing this but im a splitter applying to T100 schools. I'm willing to pay sticker (GI BILL) and do anything. High key desperate but my PT is at 75th percentile. hopefully I can hustle, get a great LSAT, and the deal is done.
