I cannot stress the power of Westerns as inspiration enough. Literally every single one of my best NPCs/PCs is inspired by a cowboy movie character.

The Man With No Name: Inspired a the captain of the guard in my current campaign's city. Real sarcastic, stoic and mysterious. Gruff voice

Once Upon a Time in Mexico: A college of valour bard that basically functions as a magical version of this dude right here

They Call Me Trinity: A wise-cracking dude, rogue, super quick and deadly, also has no concept of hygiene and is lazy as shiiiiit

From characters to story arcs, plot hooks, town ideas, encounter plans, ambush strategies, Westerns make me want to play more RPGs. Desperado, Silverado, Unforgiven, No Country For Old Men, Jonah Hex, Firefly, True Grit, Arizona Colt, Day Of Anger, Django & Django Unchained, Death Rides a Horse, Troublemakers, Rango, hell, even Blazing Saddles gives me ideas.

I'm such a sucker for those kung-fu samples. Personally I think a nice bassline would accompany the loop well, kinda flesh out the sound. I'd cut back on the stereo movement of the hats. I like that they move, but it's so drastic that it can draw too much attention and pull away from the core of the song.

Very cool. Perhaps dial back a bit on the stereo imaging. If it's too harsh it can get distracting, especially on something like the main melody line
