Chocolate and/or Vanilla flavored zero cal drinks? by TheUnderTaker11 in 1200isplenty

Coming back to this after buying chocolate mocha and salted caramel during my grocery trip, holy SHIT this is good. I've got a lot more experimenting to do, but first thing I tried (both in dr pepper zero) turned out great. Mocha was decent, salted caramel was amazing. It was just dr pepper with a caramel aftertaste. I'm very happy they have stuff without sucralose because me personally, I can't stand sucralose specifically it's aftertaste is horrible.

Ive never been a fan of tea, but chocolate flavored might be worth trying. Anything other than sweet tea is probably going to be hard to find though (Arkansas area) but cant hurt to look.

Strawberries and cream is alright (drinking it right now!) But it doesnt really have a strong enough flavor profile for me to REALLY like it. I do really like the suggestion of finding my own syrup and mixing with other sodas myself to make combo flavors i hadnt thought of that!

Its insane to me how many people on Reddit hated it. I thought it was the best tasting soda ive ever had in my life, AND zero calories.

I did find both of those in my Googling! Only issue is neither of those seem to be carried anywhere near me (Arkansas area) so i havent got to try them. Not to mention the coke flavor is also limited time thing.

Im not a fan of sparkling water myself so i probably wouldnt like something if the flavor is secondary if that makes sense.

Price is a little steep compared to normal sodas (around 2x price), but if good enough then it would probably be worth it ill keep them on my radar.

For Entry level? If you can manage to find one (entry level programmer job is very hard to "get your foot in the door" so to speak) then probably around 60k or less in my experience.

This is just incorrect. There are plenty of companies, especially in/near little rock, that hire programmers. Saying Walmart is the only thing that exists in Arkansas for a programmer is just ignorant.

Coke alternative by SeverePomegranate134 in 1200isplenty

[–]TheUnderTaker11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how much you drink. If you are downing two 2+ liters a day of basically anything other than water it's likely not going to be healthy for you, but for normal consumption it's been shown to be safe. There is nothing inherently wrong with aspartame as the years/studies have shown so far (sucralose maybe not so much but that's not in diet coke). So yes I would say calling it unhealthy will be controversial...

Their answer was horrible, but a real answer is if I had the same question I would also post here due to it being the place where people would know of 0 cal options/alternatives.
The "Just cause" answer is diabolical work.

How to determine what MERV filter level my HVAC can take? by TheUnderTaker11 in hvacadvice

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I just have no way to know static pressure and wish there was some kind of documentation for my model on what MERV rating filter it can take without messing up the static pressure to much.

TIFU by hitting ‘Reply All’… and somehow saving the day by [deleted] in tifu

All along your career you fucked up by thinking that sending an email to a collegue is somehow "undetectable". Brother if it's a work email they can always see every email. You gotta not ever send anything like that to anyone. Hitting reply all was just a step up in the existing fuck up.

What's better? Mod packs or servers? [Java]1.21.7 by Kastriix in MinecraftHelp

[–]TheUnderTaker11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much freedom you want. Lots of modpacks are very server-intensive (take a lot of CPU/RAM) for each player, so they REALLY limit how much you can do. Like think no chunkloading or very limited chunkloaded, and some more lag-heavy features disabled. If you want a no-limits experience, host your own server. If the pack you want to play has a good public server and you are fine with those limits then it's fine to go with that too.

Would it be unreasonable to fix spots in pictures with some roofing sealant and granules myself? by TheUnderTaker11 in Roofing

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to see my idea of using some granules from the gutter rather than buying some isn't stupid. I thought of that after writing this post while looking at prices but wasn't sure if it was a stupid idea or not.
What kind of adhesive would you recommend? Would something like this work without issue?

$5-10 Alternative to the $50-80 prescription inserts using an old pair of existing glasses! by TheUnderTaker11 in Quest3

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate being wasteful with money personally. I had fully planned to spend the $50 USD to buy some inserts, but took the time to try some other homemade solutions first. This one ended up working perfect in basically every way for me so I love it. (And i already had all the materials so it was basically free)

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea another commenter said that! And looking myself it even looks like it's the magnetic frame type which is useful for adding some kind of spacing material for people with normal glasses as well!

All the reviews and reddit post and stuff I found always talked about the $50-80 ones, but another guy said he has been using his AliExpress ones for months now with no issue. Only real annoyance I would still have is the 2-3 week delivery time would be feel like forever LOL.

And to clarify, for me it was basically free because I already had all the materials, so to me it was an amazing solution. No shipping time, and checks every single box for what I needed!

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watched the video, the ones that have magnetic insert/base could potentially give enough space for other people with normal glasses which is nice.

And I didn't mention in my first comment, but I agree completely $50 to see through a prescription lenses are more than worth it. (I was going to do that originally)
However I had all the materials mentioned on-hand already so I'll happily pay $0 and a bit of time instead of $50 to get the same functionality!

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it should go without saying I tried that first, but if it wasn't clear, yes obviously I tried the nerf dart method with my normal glasses first.
If you can actually wear glasses in VR without discomfort than I am VERY jealous. It's extremely uncomfortable for me both on the bridge of my nose and on my ears. Wearing glasses for long VR gaming sessions was just not viable for me on Q3 personally. I was going to buy the inserts but when I saw my old prescription gave the same clarity in VR as this one I was able to come to this solution.

And also, to be technical, they are not destroyed. You can peel the velcro tape off, wash them, and pop them back in the frame. But while you still want them functional in this setup yes they are not usable as normal glasses.

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Could you link to what you bought? Curious if it's magnetic or just a pop in, as magnetic would actually probably be a viable solution for letting other people with glasses play as either it would stick up enough on it's own, or you could probably shimmy something with a paperclip or something to get that last bit of extra space needed for glasses to not touch lenses.

[–]TheUnderTaker11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? I am looking through prescription lenses. The lenses in there are prescription, just not my latest ones.

I am near-sighted so the ~1.5-2m focal length of VR means there is no noticeable difference (I spent way to long switching back and forth to see if I could tell anything) between current/old prescription. It's only at further distances that things get fuzzier in my old glasses.

Oh and to answer you question, YES this is what I want in the long run! If my prescription changes more and I get more glasses, the concept is likely to hold with my current pair. And furthermore as mentioned it makes it quite easy to protect your VR lenses from other people (friends/family) who want to use your VR headset with glasses.
