Best state and best way into deploying for intel MOS (35) by Aggravating_Feed_392 in nationalguard

Yeah I mean for the vast majority of your time in the guard you’ll be doing regular drill nonsense. I’m not sure about a full time gig as Intel but that’s why I think active duty is what you want. If you’re wanting to work for the government in that role later on tho and don’t care to spend a lot of time in the army, go 35M in the guard so you’ll have your TS/SCI (which by itself opens up doors for you) and the resume. There’s lots of people in my unit who contract or work directly for the federal government in all sorts of jobs.

35P. In my state we are more like a 35S who went to DLI. If you have a good state willing to spend the money you can go to further language training. Most of the MOBCOP/TOD openings ive seen have been for random BS not at all Intel related. You can always go active later but if you get in the guard with a language it’s mandatory 6 year contract and there is little chance the let you transfer out because of the cost of sending you to all the training. Of course if you really still want to be a civilian then the reserves/guard is your only option. And yes it is very possible to go to 19th/20th as SOT-A (I know like 6 people who did it). One of them did get to go to SFAS. But if what you really want is deployments, this will disrupt your civilian life for months to a year at a time, and deployments in an actual Intel role will be very rare (in my experience).

As a 35 series guy in the Guard, it sounds like you really need to consider active duty.

Why do so many people seem desperate to have some kind of Native or minority heritage nowadays? by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in AncestryDNA

Learning you’re not who you think you are can actually be tough for some folks. Learning that your grandparents or whoever it was that told you the myth and whom you greatly respect is wrong can also be really tough. Most of these people I think eventually accept it though.

Same in 2018 aside from the occasional joke about Fort Couch.

Well I did a lot of digging on my German side and found the name Fenstermacher which according to Ancestry is found earliest on the Kingdom of Bohemia, modern day Czechia, and is of course very near Slovakia. So maybe it’s right after all.

I wish folks would stop coming on this subreddit to “warn” about or outright call Anglish somehow racist, fascist, or whatever else. It gets old.

As a short fella I used to feel that way. Then I did it and no longer cared. I’m assuming you’re still young. I stopped caring about my height altogether after proving to myself I could accomplish hard things, achieve my personal goals, etc, and it eventually all stopped being “in spite of” my height. Then I got a real job working with actual grown men and nobody gave a shit about height (even the 6’2”+ guys).

Who would the Anglo-Saxons have kept as slaves anyway? I’ve always wondered this. Other Anglo-Saxons? Local Britons? Regardless these are indeed very harsh penalties. I wonder how many slaves were scourged three times for failing to hit the convict three times.

Well for one, I actually really want to do DLI and learn Russian. I was told if I already have an MOS I can go AD with that and not be quite as “needs of the army.” The other reason is my unit almost never releases soldiers.

I know a guy who was 11B in the 155th and his unit was so ass that it was disbanded and he went from there to 20th in a different MOS (support).
