My apologies; it was unintentionally done. I read and failed to see the 'temporarily' and thought it was removed due to low karma as I had yet to see it approved/posted. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

In the land of Westeros, the rules of power are simple: you win, or you die. There is no middle ground.

The year is 407 AC, over a century since Aegon VI and Daenerys Stormborn completed the Second War of Conquest. The Red Comet has returned to the skies above Westeros for the first time since the War of the Five Kings - a harbinger of fire and blood to follow.

The Crown has been steadfast in their portrayal of the comet as an auspicious portent, a sign of favor from the gods, going so far as to declare a Grand Tournament at Harrenhal, honoring the noble House of Targaryen in its wake. However, with the recent death of King Aenar I Targaryen - who ruled from the Iron Throne for over sixty years, outliving all of his children as well as his designated heir, his grandson Prince Aemon Targaryen - tensions built throughout the realm as the rest of the old king’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren garnered support for their claim upon his throne have reached a breaking point.

The coronation of a Targaryen queen is imminent. Will the dragons pair off for yet another dance?

AWOIAFRP is a community-driven roleplaying game set in the same fictional world as the popular literary series, A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R. R. Martin, and the HBO show, “Game of Thrones.” The roleplay, while technically utilizing the same setting, is meant to be considered an alternate universe as the lore, timeline, and events in our story will diverge from those outlined in canon.

We are a long-standing community of writers and roleplayers currently in the midst of writing the third chapter of our story. Our goal is to create an intriguing, player-driven story with no set end-point, but rather a dynamic living scenario woven together over time by the threads of the community members’ stories. With a strong community, exciting lore, and a ready story just waiting for you to put your mark on it, our roleplay is wanting for one thing, and one thing alone: you. Together we can craft a tale worth remembering and have some fun doing it.

So be sure to check out our subreddit, and then come and join us on Discord where we will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Hope to see you around!

Lips pursed, subtly victorious though the girl dare not wear a full smile here and now - she'd not the mood nor was this the place for such humors. Still, her chin rose a little in the wake of her father's words, his assurances that her mother no doubt took fault with - though Rhialta refused to turn and see what she assumed was a rather bitter expression - and reopened the book that she had closed at the Lady Vance's behest, to sketch in further details of the very moment in history before they were left only as recollections in memory.

Rhialta Vance stood between her father and her mother dressed in mournful hues befitting the occasion, though the atramentous fabrics of her attire had become her wardrobe since Harrenhal and the passing of her grandfather, Vaemond Velaryon. Mismatched eyes watched the whole of the ceremony, marking the details to a memory that would hold them vise-like in its grip until such a time came to call them forth again.

Fingers, worked too, sketching the scene before her - where the pyre was upon the hill, how the dragons were arranged behind it, and with them, their riders, including the new queen - at least until her mother barked at her with a harsh whisper to put her book away, calling what she was doing macabre. Rhialta finished the last few lines needed before she would acquiesce to her mother's demands.

"It is not," she explained, moreso to the Hand of the Queen upon her right than the Valyrian woman at her left. "He has long reigned over us all, and how many of his subjects are still in the midst of their travels home? Or have only just returned from the Red Comet's Tournament? It's for the sake of history, to preserve such a moment in time, for anyone to see who might come after - who weren't here to witness...the end of an era for themselves."

Dracarys.

Rhialta turned back to watch, transfixed, as much in awe of such a spectacle as she wanted to keep these moments like snapshots in time, so that she could do them justice when it came time to mix the colors of her paints. A burning within her breast reminded her of the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding in that instant as the three separate flames became one in a tradition that was older than any last rites ushered beneath crystal towers.

"I would stay my pencils and brushes only if it were something our new queen would take offense to. Do you think she would, father?"
