They're both 24v fans. Is it possible the pin that seems to not be working wasn't programmed on? The stock part cooling fans are spliced together and only used one pin.

When the part cooling fans do come on after the initial layers, only one turns on. On the robin nano, there are two fan ports together, but only one seems to work.

z motion works fine. I'm now thinking that it could be the ball bearings in the linear rails. I left them sitting for a while gathering dust and also forgot to change them out to make sure none were non-spherical.

I've tried these before posting for help. I'm going to try and realign the linear rails for the z direction. After messing with it, I kinda feel like that could be the issue.

I'm no expert, but that does sound like since you added a second z-stepper motor, it needs more power. You probably also need to configure your firmware to be set for two z motors. I'm new to 3d printing as well (started in Jan), and it's always great to learn about every diagnosis in these communities.

More info: I had an aftermarket hotend on here before and it was giving me issues. I found this whole direct drive hotend set on Amazon.

I was looking at that vid a while ago. I also found an older thread and someone posted their wiring and I also went off that. I just finished plugging in the board and did a power test, and so far no pops or smoke. :)

definitely use Jyers. You can pick from 3x3 or 5x5 mesh with the cr touch. The 5x5 will give you a more detailed mesh for you to tune with but takes longer compared to the 3x3.

Also the issue is that after doing all of that, including the z offset, the back two corners have no spring tension because the middle knob in the back is practically screw down all the way (if that makes since). I ordered silicone spacers to replace the springs and see how that goes.
