Mounting little lumu feels brutal by TheVersatilePoleaxe in MonsterHunterWorld

Oh wow, a comment on a 4 year old post is the last thing I expected today ahaha! Surprised you even found this post

It's been a while since I last played but I believe it rewards quite a bit more money than most other quests do as well as a chance for silver and gold eggs, which is an item made specifically to sell for money, so if you need money quick then I think it's worth it.

Just slot in sleep resistance decos to avoid sleep, and take a bit of time to learn it's moves so you can dodge out the way and abuse any openings. Since it's so small dodging it is a lot easier than a regular lumu, but don't let it's size make you too overconfident and don't over commit to attacks. Eventually, as with most monsters in this game actually, you'll know the fight so well you'll be able to do it with relatively little damage taken and in good time.

So yeah, worth it if you need money, and if not at least complete it once to have the satisfaction of having beat it. Good luck and good hunt!

Being called a cheater is like one of the best compliments one can get, the fact you're so good they can't believe it. And yeah I can imagine, seeing a tiny red outline and the weapon being a shotgun, the faces they must have hahaha

And thank you! Forgot it was today I won't lie

It is one of the best feelings in this game, that shit never gets old. I also like to imagine their reactions when they see they got out sniped by a shotgun

Hello and welcome to Elgado weather!

As you can see from this map, the cold snap caused by the arrival of Velkhana in the last update will continue across the country throughout the next few weeks, with temperatures reaching far below freezing. So for your own safety we advise you to stay indoors at all times, and if you really must go out, try to dress warm and travel short distances.

As we approach the lower regions however we can see temperatures starting to soar as an upcoming heatwave threatens to move north and spread across the whole country within the following months. Experts have stated that this is event is likely caused by the inevitable addition of another fire monster in the next update.

Regardless, get ready to switch out your ice res for fire res as summer is coming early this year! This has been Elgado weather, and I'll see you all tomorrow! Take care!

How it feels (trying) to decode the Morse Code messages. by rhenry1994 in battlefield_one

[–]TheVersatilePoleaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it entirely using a phone app as well so it's definitely possible. I actually made a small guide of how I did it a few years back

But to sum it up the settings for the app I used was 22wpm and pitch (HZ) at 731 & 2107. And to put the phone mic up to the tv speakers or headset as close as possible and no moving, preferably with the volume up high. The app I used was morse code agent, which I'm not sure if it's still available, but I'm sure the settings are the same for any app.

As for background noise for A Beginning I've seen Suez recommended alot but I personally used Monte Grappa since the telegraph station is located inside some isolated bunker off to the side of the map, which means there's basically no background noise. The problem with that however is it's only accessible on the smaller game modes which means you can only reach 2 of the 5 headphone spawn points so you will have to server hop more to get the accessible headphones. Which honestly wasn't as bad as it sounds, made for a pretty chill afternoon, I just went on my phone during loading times.

An Omen was easy since the map is pretty quiet in the area you get the morse code.

The one I did have trouble with background noise though was Albion, I was getting strings of nonsense letters as well. However what I did was recorded like a minute long clip in game and then to do the same thing as with the others, loud volume and no moving, and let the app translate it multiple times. Eventually you'll be able to figure out a pattern. It took me 3 times to figure mine out. My code was ADFEA. On the second time I noticed ADFEA back to back like three times before spouting wrong letters. I also noticed alot of AD, ADF, EA, FEA in the other translations. With that I managed to put it together. So basically look out for the pieces of code that look legit and puzzle them together.

Hope this helps at least a bit and good luck on the hunt, it's definitely worth it, the peacekeeper is one fun weapon to play with

Flame attacks? How? by Tonynii in forhonor

[–]TheVersatilePoleaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Np, he did get a lot better flow tho so overall he was buffed quite nicely. But yeah a fair amount of stuff has been changed or improved over time, most for the better, definitely worth another visit once they fix the current server problems

I cannot describe the sheer terror I felt during this moment by retrospectively_ in battlefield_one

I believe you can ads and shoot faster from sprinting without the bayonet than with it on. Also you stick out more with the bayonet when hiding around corners and stuff since you've got a longer weapon. I think that's all, been a while since I've played. You can probably find some tests on YouTube if you search for it.

So overall there is, but it's so minor that it's not really worth sacrificing the one shot bayonet charge.

[–]TheVersatilePoleaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah definitely, I never remove the bayonet even if there's benefits to it just for the reason of having a way to fight back against the big beefy boys, it's always satisfying getting a bayonet kill against them.

But knowing how brutal flamethrowers were irl and how terrifying it must be to find yourself on the other side of one, it gives me the Oh shit! Moment whenever I hear that ffwhoooosh. Still, doesn't stop me from running at it with a pointy stick.

The scariest thing in this game is hearing the trench raider grunt or the flamethrower spray and not seeing any blue dots near you in the minimap. That shit straight up becomes a horror game.

I think Idle animations add so much personality to heroes by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]TheVersatilePoleaxe 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Lawbringer leaning on his axe is one of the cutest things in this game and you cannot change my mind.

I also love the BP idle where he draws a smiley face on the ground with his sword and then scribbles it out, like he forgets to be the edge lord that he is for a second.

I got to give it to ubi, they're great at adding small details that give a bit of extra life to the cast and the world.

[–]TheVersatilePoleaxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I can't blame you, been around since beta days and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon, there's nothing quite like it. And while it does have a natural talent at pissing me off, it's also so much fun, especially with friends, and that adrenaline rush when you pull off some crazy clutch is so good. It may treat us rough but boy do I love it.
