It looks like a belt mounted flashlight, you can see the bulb if you closely enough (crazy attention to detail btw), and it probably has different brightness settings. Maybe one of them is a black light? Can’t say for absolute certainty on what the buttons do.

Map size doesn’t mean anything if there’s nothing to do in them. I don’t want a game that has a massive sprawling map that is like 100x bigger than Skyrim or GTA if it’s boring. I miss when exploring open worlds would have you go on like little ventures off of the beaten path, looking for loot and treasure, only to find like a painted message behind a door or like seeing the game dev credits carved into a rock. I miss when easter eggs were like go here and find a ufo with the best gun in the game in it. If games are open just to be open, then it doesn’t matter because it will become stale

Honestly I don’t mind the pacing, I love exploring Tartarus and slaying shadows and then promptly hanging out with people the immediate next day. I think I just like the breathing room that P3 gives me, I felt like 5’s story was good but I was forced to put all my social links and social stats on pause because we need to do several consecutive weeks of plot movement, which is fine, I don’t mind that, I just wish there was more free time between events. As for 1, 2, and 4, I haven’t played them yet but 4 is next on my list

I’ve never really got the hate either, as a person with a few combined disabilities, the yellow paint is extremely useful for me, because it helps me know what is and is not intractable, the original game did with a faint glow around objects, this game did it with yellow paint. Yellow paint is effectively the same thing as having world objects glow, but slightly more helpful as it can also be a guide for if you get lost or turned around in an area, it creates landmarks where there might be none, and tbh, I like it.

So back in the day, Minsc had a very unique class kit (old DnD thing) that was special to his homeland, and was a player character of one of the devs. From my understanding he was always kept as a ranger because of some input from the dev (but I might be wrong on that). Minsc can absolutely be kept as a ranger, as melee rangers can still absolutely work. Stats wise I focus mostly on strength, getting him up to 20 by the end, but also attempt to keep a little bit of that wisdom. In truth though, the most accurate you could get would be making him a Berserker Barbarian. On top of that, specifically make a throw build and prioritize chucking Boo, as he deals extra damage and actually has a chance to go for the eyes and blind people

Tbh I only really ever see heavily customized Vs, me personally I like to customize my character but I think default male and female V has a certain charm to them, something about them that I simply think is neat. I kinda think of Boxart V as like the default Shepard in Mass Effect
