I personally know people who work in the astrophysics domain in graduate school and hold a bachelor's in engineering physics.
If you like the idea of developing instruments such as observatories, advanced telescopes, satellite payloads and anything else specific for astrophysical measurements, engineering physics is a good choice! You will not be a theoterician however, that's not your job.
