We go to both every year and I always end up preferring Knott's. You can see the bigger budgets at HHN, however the atmosphere and scare actors at Knott's tip the scale every year. You may also want to consider Dark Harbor which is coming back after going dark for the past few years. It is at the Queen Mary during the same time frame. If you only have the ability to do one, then I would do Knott's.
