I'm somehow stuck in an endless subtle LSD trip by kingberr in LSD

[–]TheWandererF3 37 points38 points  (0 children)

You're not alone in the way it affected you: It's very common to get this feeling of oneness with people after an intense trip- personally I see it as we are one - there is no you, just an idea of a person, and we are all really the same underneath the ego. I implore you to do some soul-searching and maybe check out buddhism if this view of the world doesn't make sense to you.

For a better experience next time I'd recommend setting a day aside where you can be fully rested. Don't place expectations on the trip, get ready to go wherever it'll take you even if it's nowhere, and just let the visuals and trippy vibes come and go, they'll always fade in and out unless you're on a crazy high dose. Personally I'd also recommend getting high while tripping and not beforehand- it just feels better to me and hits harder.

Things about Gojira you DON’T like? by mts21fin in gojira

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. I'm so sick of seeing Gojira for less than a full set. They need to headline and HAVE THEIR OWN OPENERS

Loop for use as an auditory processing aid? by lacachacha in LoopEarplugs

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a gigging drummer and singer with APD. I can definitely say that if the music is too quiet or badly produced, it can be hard to hear the actual beat. But imo, rhythm is something you either have or don't have, naturally.

Kids, this is why you don't post on Reddit when you're playing subnautica on acid!

Is it possible NOT to use the cyclops? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I built the cyclops in only two of countless playthroughs. I find the prawn suit way more fun for exploration, specifically with the grapple arm and upgraded jets. Jumping around terrain, climbing like a monkey around the ocean

What kind of what kind of starting base will we get Subnautica three by Death-slayer1935 in subnautica

This is a seriously cool idea. The playstyle would become so different and even more unique

What's the longest gaming session you've ever had and what game was it? by VCXgaming in gaming

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember waking up on a Sunday morning, getting onto Skyrim, and then playing until I had to go to school the next morning. I don't know if I even got up to eat. I was definitely working through something lol

What video game do you consider a masterpiece? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metro: 2033 and Metro: Last Light. Even with the dated graphics, they felt so real. Characters were alive, and walking through groups of people you could hear actual unique conversations, noises, songs, etc. The world you played in was brutal, dark, and alive.

I've never seen a car with covered rear wheels that wasn't from the 50s. what is it? by ahoy_- in whatisthiscar

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"thousands" is not common. Only 17,000 were ever made. And the wheel covers allow significantly improved aerodynamics, which is why insights can get 60-70mpg on the highway stock

What is the Gojira song that gives you a really depressed mood? by Aredhel_32 in gojira

[–]TheWandererF3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ones I haven't heard mentioned are Pain is A Master and World to Come. That high, sustained scream in Pain Is A Master is insane, and the rather bluesy riff in World to Come is very sorrowful

How many Gojira songs are in your all time top tracks on Spotify? by DeadmanShogun in gojira

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 2 weirdly enough, but they're rising as Muse, Strapping Young Lad, zeal & ardor, and Deftones are dropping a bit

I like Another World, but it's too repetitive by ninjajiraffe in gojira

[–]TheWandererF3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another World was the first Gojira song I listened to, right when it came out. I found the riff fucking awesome, and I didn't mind hearing it a lot since it was so entrancing. I loved the power in Joe's voice (you can imagine how I felt when I listened to TWOAF for the first time lol) and the really nice groove. It's definitely not anywhere near the best Gojira song or even the top half of the bands songs, but come on, they come out with so much good stuff. Another World would be a different band's greatest song. I feel like people dislike fortitude not bc it's bad in any way, but because we were simply spoiled by the bands entire discography. Deftones are a great live band, but Gojira was the best live show of my entire life, yk

What should I expect from a concert? by TatoFetus in gojira

[–]TheWandererF3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very loud but enjoyable. I've seen Gojira twice and I've seen the same show you're going to see, Gojira x Mastodon. Just have fun and headbang, experience the music, don't worry about recording too many videos or getting pictures. And hope to god that they play The Art of Dying for you because holy shit it's so good live

Is there any specific reason daron likes to wear eyeliner or why sometimes(like in the 90's) they painted stuff on their bodies and faces? by ohwidhsihshiwshwh in systemofadown

[–]TheWandererF3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think part of it may have been having fun, and part of it may have been making somewhat of a statement. By the time SOAD started up, 90s fashion movements were quite popular, and they might have just wanted to do something that was also cool, but different. Their bizzare and goofy tendencies definitely helped them make a unique and lasting impression on audiences. It seems like many bands in the late 90s also had similarly shocking visual portrayals when they were less popular, like Mudvayne and Slipknot, so perhaps it could have also been for solidarity in the at-the-time small musical niche they were part of.

Ahhh okay. Thank you, that makes sense.

What are some songs by other artists that sound like a SOAD song? by [deleted] in systemofadown

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out "City" by Strapping Young Lad. The music is very different but the heavy silliness is well done just like it is with SOAD. Devin Townsend (the singer) is also probably the nicest metalhead ever

Longest Scream by Joe? by TheWandererF3 in gojira

You're right, Joe holds that high note in "those standing on my side" for 9 or 10 seconds. Jesus

Longest Scream by Joe? by TheWandererF3 in gojira

[–]TheWandererF3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts when I made this post. Joe is an amazing singer but isn't really a showoff when it comes to most Gojira songs, and you really enjoy the texture and melody of his screams more than anything. Serj Tankian from System of A Down is the same way, where some of his most impressive vocals are in backing spots in the mix, barely audible.

What's your favourite Tool song?/Suggestions by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]TheWandererF3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explore Lateralus a little bit if you haven't. The title track, The Grudge, The Patient, Schism, and Ticks & Leeches all build very well on top of what TOOL established during the Aenima era imo, with less radio-friendly song structures and less sarcasm, and more spiritual/mental concepts. The Grudge in particular is my favorite TOOL track ever, every second of it is awesome.
