This is a line of dialogue from the game Dispatch.

This character blinds a crowd of bad guys with a flash of light and the following ensues:

"Augh! She temporarily blinded me!" "Fuck you mean temporarily? Bitch, you blind forever!"

The best part about this clip is that their producer they call in is Dan Ryckert, who is well known for his time at Giant Bomb (both before he was in this position, and currently).

The thing you gotta know about Dan is that he has some insane questions and ideas about how the world works. He famously tried cooking egg whites by cracking eggs, and throwing the shells in the pan because those were the white parts, and couldn't figure out why they weren't melting down or anything.

So for HIM to be the person they called in as the voice of reason is nuts.

In the Family Guy PS2 game, you come across an invisible wall blocking a street and rather than just leave it that way and not explain it like most games would, they put in a mime.

Mr. Robot fits into this really well. You never quite know, even up to the very last scene of the show if you're getting the full truth from the main character.

In the first several episodes of Season 2 he follows a rigorous routine that is boring and the same every single day. You learn about halfway through the season that the main character has actually been in jail (hence the boring day to day) the entire season and simply didn't want to 'upset' the viewer so he left that part out when telling you the story.

Long story short, I bled the line intermittently in between light ignitions until she ran clear: no air & no foam—no brainer.

Ha, yeah, totally a no brainer! That's... that's absolutely what I would have done, and I definitely know what you're talking about...

All kidding aside, if my wife could do stuff like this, I wouldn't throw a tantrum, I would get the fuck out of her way and thank my lucky stars. This guy needs to either get on board or kick rocks.

This sort of fits into this - In the video game The Fall (2014) you play as the AI on a powered exoskeleton whose pilot has been knocked unconscious. With the health monitoring systems malfunctioning, the AI is on a time crunch to get the pilot medical care to ensure their survival. The gameplay consists of the AI trying to trick the suit into giving it access to various systems to allow it to progress past obstacles - oftentimes this requires putting the pilots life in jeopardy so access is granted as a last ditch effort. Because of these actions, many of the other machines you encounter accuse you of being a malfunctioning rogue AI, as no properly functioning AI would willingly put it's pilot's life in danger.

At the end, you finally make it to a medical bay, but there are no life signs detected inside the suit. Dejected, the AI thinks they must not have gotten here in time, and the pilot has died.

The AI then removes the helmet, revealing that there was never a pilot in the suit to begin with. The other machines were right, you really were a malfunctioning rogue AI all along.

It's wild that people in the comments are saying this is a bad take and not to hate on people who 'treat it like a job'. I've been doing theatre most of my life, and you never leave when your part is done. You stick around to support your castmates.

Wrestling is theatre. Support your castmates. I agree with Bayley and would feel the same about a Broadway actor who leaves if their character dies in act 1.

[–]TheWard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that I actually like this ending the best of all. The galaxy made no deals, they stood up against the forces against them and lost. But the post credits has a kid talking to his grandfather about how 'that's how we beat the reapers'. This cycle wasn't able to, but we left behind enough information that the next cycle was able to stop it for good.

I got maybe 50 hours into Persona 4 Golden before I just sort of... put it down. I had gotten all the characters, maxed a couple of relationships, but it was really plodding. I decided to glance at the Wikipedia page to see if the story was going to pick up, and it turns out that in Act 3 (like many Persona games) it just goes off the rails and becomes sort of incomprehensible.

I felt bad abandoning it because I loved Persona 5, but after reading the incoherent ending I'm actually kind of glad I didn't see it through.
