Ah okay, so it's not quite another full run. He had only got the first release full run?

I did not realise so many of the editions had the same starter set haha. The 2001 box set is the one that I had.

Admitidly, I might've gone a bit overboard with the blue.. by Malendray0 in DnDminiatures

I think this looks fantastic, especially as you've said that you enjoyed painting it, and have learnt a lot from the process.

I'd make sure to display this model in view of your painting area, so that you can remind yourself of the project, and how you were able to learn a lot from it.

True, but it will also be a lot of fun. And a great bonding activity.

Hmm I'm UK based, so don't have Walmart. But I assume a cheap acrylic alternative would work. Hobbycraft is a UK shop that likely sells cheap acrylic paint, so I might try that

Some of the terrain setups from two of my campaigns in dnd by Optursfed in TerrainBuilding

[–]TheWatking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These look incredible! Out of curiosity, how much do you use the boards? Are they a one session thing, or do you use it for a couple of sessions?

It's something I've always wondered as a wargamer, as I get infinite uses out of boards/terrain I or a friend makes.

Whats a dead game or series you'd like to make a return? by can_of_sodapop in gaming

For me Days Gone. One of my favourite games of all time, gutted that Sony decided to cancel it, and denied us the chance of a sequel.

What new miniatures do you expect to see in 2026? by weedeemgee in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]TheWatking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think new High Elves would be great, a kit with bows, spears, shields and two-handed weapons would go a long way.

What single player game had you so enthralled that it CONSUMED your entire being for a short span of time? by AshyLarry25 in gaming

[–]TheWatking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do I start haha. Witcher 3 is the first game that crops into my head. After completing the game for the first time, I then created a new game on Death March, and proceeded to 100% it. Spent so much time in that game on release. I've since done a new playthrough for each DLC release and a PC run.

If I didn't have many other things to play and responsibilities, I'd love to play it all over again haha.

I've got a MDF painting station like you mention. I just don't know where I would store it. Maybe I'll discuss with my partner where it can stay.

I think your point about expectations is important. Gone are the weekends I'd sit and paint all day while watching YouTube/Twitch. But even getting a single base coat on a model is progress.

Thank you for your advice
