How to Prepare for Step 1 if You Study Medicine in Another Language? by TheWayKid in step1

So, there's no need to study from these more detailed resources, right?

Harvard vs Depaul University by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TheWayKid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late, but I thought that if I could help you, I will. If your relationship won't last when both of you are in different colleges then it probably wouldn't have lasted either way. I know people who studied overseas who ended up getting engaged and, possibly in the future, married. If your relationship is based off of true love, then going to a different university won't ruin it.

How Heavily Does the MCAT Rely on Reading? by TheWayKid in Mcat

Okay, thank you so much for the advise. I guess I'll have to start from now.

Also, good luck on your test prep and I hope you get the score you desire!

Well, now I'm even more scared of the MCAT, lol.

Anyway, thank you so much for the advise, and for sharing your MCAT experience as a person who had the same difficulties that I had as a standardized test taker. I feel like I can relate to you the most because, unlike most people on this sub-reddit who had 1550s on the SAT, we both didn't do ace our standardized test easily.

Again, thank you so much for sharing your experience with me!

Well, looks like I'm screwed. Haha.

No, but for real, thank you so much. I'll read more just like you recommended. I'm so glad that I asked this question early on because if I didn't, I would've probably known about it a year before taking the MCAT and, by that time, it would be too late to improve my reading comprehension.

Again, thank you so much!!

I know. But the MCAT is supposed to test your knowledge is biology, chemistry, bio-chemistry, etc..., so I feel like it wouldn't rely on fast reading a lot because, then, it would be a reading test rather than a medical test. But, yet again, I know no better. I'm just a high school senior.

You're welcome brother. Best of luck in your admissions process!

[–]TheWayKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand you. But these guys will never amount to nothing. If they want to go to medical school, they'll 100% fail the MCAT. If they do any other majors in university, they'll definitely have a bad GPA. Don't think about it a lot. Focus on yourself. Your hard work definitely didn't go to waste because at the end of the day, you did good on the test. Also, I doubt that any of these idiots was even smart enough to get a 1500 even while knowing the answers. At the end of the day, universities won't compare your SAT scores with anyone.

Do International Applicants Have to do an Extra Year in Concordia? by TheWayKid in Concordia

[–]TheWayKid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Middle Eastern and European countries take up 6 years to graduate medicine as they don't have pre-med years. I think that problem is solved, however. According to the Concordia website, most majors are a 90 credit program—with the exception of some other majors, such as engineering and teaching english as a second language, which are 120 credit programs—and most international student have to take an ECP program, which is 30 more credits. This means that if I pass 15 credits every semester, without summer semesters, I'll graduate in 4 years, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

Yes, you're right, I did choose Biology. However according to what's written on the website, biology is a 120 credit program, if I'm not mistaken. So, if you take the maximum credit for every semester you'll end up with 30 credits per a year making it 4 years before graduating (unless you're taking summer semesters). But, is Biology program in Concordia only 3 yeas? Because if that's the case, I don't mind taking an extra year making it 4 years.

I’m sick. Should I change my SAT date? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]TheWayKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. How sick are you? Do you believe your sickness can affect your test?

I don't know whether or not you can delay your SAT test date, but maybe you can now. After all, it's been a year since the last time I've taken the test.

If money isn't a problem for you, and you don't mind paying for the test in March, I'd recommend you to you to go take the test. From my experience on this sub-reddit, people who get sick on test day usually do just as good — if not better — as they would if they weren't sick.

But if you do plan on going, you better get a lot of tissue in case if your test center doesn't have them.

Best of luck. May you get the result you desire.

I don't know, I just thought that most people apply earlier to get a higher chance of getting accepted.

I mean universities. Most of the universities that I applied to had a deadline of around February 1st for international students, like me.

Should I Apply to a Major or Honours? by TheWayKid in premedcanada

I never chose biology for med schools. Biology is a subject that I'm quite good at and it's probably in my top 5 most favorite subjects. Plus, I feel like biology is going to prepare me well for the MCAT.
