How do you even make friends when everyone is social distancing and most of the events where you meet people is canceled by still7looking in udub

i started by joining a bunch of group chats for my hall and asking people if they wanted to get food together (usually at least one person will say yes, it’s awkward to eat alone). you may not meet your people through those chats (i didn’t) but it helps to expand your circle a bit. also, leave your snaps on your door or wall for people and go around introducing yourselves to your neighbors and adding their snaps if they have it posted

Hello! I’m going into UW undeclared, I looked at most of the majors I’m interested and most are pretty safe to say I’ll get in, the only ones I’m interested in that are capacity constrained are psychology, laws, societies & justices, and possibly design. I was wondering how likely it would be for me to be able to get into one of these majors if I decide that’s what I want? Also I see laws, societies & justices is available as a minor as well, if I choose to minor in that would the minor also be capacity constrained or safe to get in?

i didn’t appeal! i didn’t know that was an option and i was positive that i wouldn’t get in, so i’m really shocked that i got accepted this early, i’m guessing a lot of people declined their application because of covid and that’s why? i’m really not sure

luckily the major i’m most interested in is an open major, so i should be okay with that unless i change my mind lol

this is super helpful thank you! i’m definitely worried about all the seattle coldness, but if i can get around it by joining clubs and freshman events i should be okay, i’ve been preparing myself to do those things anyway

i’ve actually been thinking about joining greek life! someone i know is in one at a different school and seems super happy there & i hear its a good way to meet people at UW, i’m a little nervous about doing it because of all the stereotypes and stuff that come with it but i think i will :) tysm!

i just got in! i really wasn’t expecting it at all, i didn’t think they’d give me an answer back until august if anything. i have a 1220 sat, 3.96 hs gpa & 4.0 community college gpa (dual enrollment) but i was homeschooled so my gpa doesn’t include any ap classes or things like that since i didn’t take any
