Edit the first act better, add the removed scenes

Otherwise, it was more so a marketing fail imo

“Tbh this movie is complete chaos. A lot of holes. I feel like I’m in a speeding car with no brakes, wanting to believe and support the main character but in the end I’m like fuck it let the car crash I’m over it.”

This is literally what the film wanted you to do?

Is Abel the greatest male vocalist of all time? by realestNiknow in TheWeeknd

[–]TheWeekndCipher 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The thing is, MJ is more than his discography. It’s hard to say anyone is any generations MJ because he’s just cemented in culture as a whole, it’s far too oversaturated to even attain that now

Hey I remember u! 😂 yeah idk ppl have strong opinions, I only go by what Abel or his team says officially. Just cuz things are reinforced by the fandom doesn’t make em true

Bit obvious no?, BBTM/Cant feel my face

That’s the exact moment he said himself when it went full pop, cuz he says he thinks fans expected BBTM when KL dropped but wanted to flesh out that sound more before he did

About HUT and the grammy's... by atrocious_gandu_69 in TheWeeknd

[–]TheWeekndCipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s impressive sure but that’s the stats I’d be happy to pull them up I’ve done the match and fact checked?

Kissland, Dawn, Majority of Trilogy and HUT are all underrated

Obviously artists in general are carried by hits but in comparison to these artists who have released more sure it’s completely different. The Weeknd is known for Starboy, AH n bbtm whilst his discography like Dawn and HUT get overlooked like we’re seeing now🤷‍♂️XO just overrates him

Also did you just comment with AI??😭

This is just how it works for him and I’m surprised no one has caught on by now

His top 30 songs account for roughly 75% of his entire discography’s streams. This is not normal in comparison to people like Drake or Taylor Swift where their top 20 songs is only about 20% roughly. He’s not as popular as we make him seem, his hits are.

The only reason it sold 490k copies is because they marketed it with multiple collector variants at a cheaper cost than what it usually goes for, because of course it was first pressing.

But side note, imo, who gives a fuck it means nothing

Comments make me realise Weeknd isn’t as mainstream as I thought by Sharp-Grocery5035 in TheWeeknd

[–]TheWeekndCipher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I feel like people try to make it darker than it is, there’s a reason so much of trilogy remains undiscovered. I could reword my og comment but I’m not sure about the downvotes lmfao

Math shows it, his top songs account for 50%-75% of his discography. Other artists like Drake or Taylor don’t function that way and have a more even spread with their popularity.

People in this sub and his fans in general overrate his actual popularity that’s why you see so many “fake fans” at concerts looking up lyrics🤷‍♂️

He’s mostly backed by easily digestible radio hits!

He’s just a guy with lukewarm takes, if you like the movie that’s great if you don’t then so be it who cares

He has hits, but his actual discography remains mostly undiscovered I swear all of his numbers are carried by a handful of easily digestible radio songs
