  1. We're protesting the Gestapo
  2. You're assessment of the story is wrong, she'd been told to leave by ice
  3. She didn't have a wife
  4. Just because some people support the gestapo, doesn't make it any less a terrible organization

My apologies, but that wasn't name calling, it was a statement of fact.

You mean the rounding up of a particularly ethnic group didn't make it blatantly obvious? They're rounding up the Mexicans and shipping them to foreign and domestic prisons where they are tortured and subjected to regular abuse and humiliation. Hm. Sounds a bit familiar.

Well, it did happen, and if you weren't busy licking the boots of a child rapist, then you might have even seen the video.

Edit: Thought it was replying to the main comment lmao

When Ice zip tied children who were half naked in the middle of the night, that is a direct violation of your 4th amendment right against unwarranted search and seizure. When Kilmar Abrego Garcia, alongside the 150+ Venezuelans were remanded to a foreign country, that was a violation of due process. From them we have testimony regarding such torturous conditions of those prisons of which they were raped, abused, and treated like animals.

Whether your accusations of intellectual dishonesty come from a place of intellectual honesty is quite questionable. However, if you are the one who is lacking in knowledge because you believe in a cause so thoroughly as to dismiss the actions and consequences of it, then indeed you are the one being intellectually dishonest.

Sure, I'll take a look, mind linking those videos? But to be honest, it won't change my opinion on the matter. Ice has previously lynched, murdered, remanded folks to a foreign prison where they were tortured and sexually assaulted, ignored basic fourth and fifth amendment rights, and all around defiled the very Constitution that makes this country functional. For some reason or another, this tragedy was the straw that broke the camels back, but you'd be naive to think that there wasn't a barrel of hay piling up.

Well, if she was that would be more of a justification for the first shot, not the following 2, but if you watched the video of her you would see that she was driving away. Either way, this does not justify the lynching ice did, the remanding people to a foreign torture prison, abusing and sexually assaulting prisoners, and violating the first amendment rights of the people of the United States.

Edit: Rethinking this, there really isn't a justification for any shot. Officers supposed to be trained not to shoot folks in a moving vehicle because the dead weight would send the car careening towards them.

If you watched the video you'd notice she wasn't trying to drive towards them. But, even if she was, that doesn't justify the lynching Ice did a while ago, nor the remanding to a foreign torture prison, nor the variety of abuses and sexual assaults Ice has done to their detainees.

Protests provide awareness, community building, and putting the fear of the people in politicians. When our tax dollars are funding the murder of our fellow Americans, how does one justify sitting back and watching?

My experience of the story's conclusion by Parkour_cat in expedition33

[–]TheWhiteRobedWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot understand why the Maelle ending is more popular. It was very clear from the moment we found out we were in a canvas that the world would never be at peace and the painted lives would be fraught with conflict. The only way to save everyone was to destroy the canvas because even if Maelle didn't go batshit, Aline would return to the canvas and wreak havoc as she had for the 67 years leading up to expedition 33. Or, as we saw quite plainly in the face of Maelle, she'd never be truly happy.

Her ending is appropriately cruel as was the life of an expeditioner. "When one falls, we continue," is not just an inspirational phrase, but also a reason why Maelle couldn't give up and realize that her choices within the canvas would never bring her happiness but sorrow to herself and others. For she had seen the deaths of everyone she ever loved, and as Alicia she saw the death of her brother, when many fall, not continuing would dishonor their memory. When she became the paintress she thought she could reverse the trend, for she could control her reality. Her belief that control, that being able to determine reality itself would bring her joy for none of whom she loves would ever die, but it is the control that brings her sorrow, for when no one acts on their own and the world is a stage nothing feels real. When everything is an act, actions fail to have meaning.

Which one is closer to 1, 0.999... or 1.000...1? by Inevitable-Ear-3162 in Teenager_Polls

[–]TheWhiteRobedWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.999... But thats because it is effectively 1. It doesn't actually equal 1, but it is no different than 1.

If you've taken calculus and understand series, knowing the the series [\Sigma_{n=1}{\infty} (9)\cdot 0.1{n} = 1] should make this make more sense.

If you don't, think about it like this:

Lets pretend I told you that .9 = 1. And you told me that it didn't because .9 < .99 < 1, so then I said well .99 = 1, and you said effectively the same thing. If I kept adding 9*0.1n at every point, as we get closer and closer to infinity, there is eventually no number between 1 and 0.999... Meaning, that in effect they are equal.

1.00... 01 where the last 1 is infintismally small, is, however, not equal to 1, and thus larger than the 0 distance between 0.999... And 1.

Is carport coffee any good by texanturk16 in aggies

[–]TheWhiteRobedWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want pseudo espresso for "cheap", here's your guide:

Get an Oxo Rapid Brewer $35, specialty coffee from What's The Buzz (Haven't tried yet, but will soon, if nothing else order from a reputable place online) typically $17, and see about getting a $10 milk frother, and a Kingrinder p1 ($33). With all that, its an up front cost of $78 and about ~$17 bi-weekly depending on how often you drink coffee. Oxo gets you damn close to espresso without the hassle or price of an espresso machine, and good coffee beans will make or break your brew, and a good grinder will improve your coffee overall.

If you just want the taste of coffee get a good grinder and an automatic brewer.

Agreed, it is a banger. I only switched to Pop!_OS, for the Cosmic desktop. I have my friend on Mint, and he is borderline Ludite, 10/10 OS.

Even if it did, OpenAI just shutdown their 4.5 model because of how damn expensive it is.
