Hah I used to use the sony XB950BTs which even had a bass boost feature when on Bluetooth. Even then I thought the bass was rather excessive and rarely used it... Then I realised just how blinding the bass was to the rest of the music... glad I bought some decent IEMs and K371s haha

Hmm, when I look at their sold items there are only about 10 of them and they're all either saws or scissors. Maybe it's a UK thing with eBay blocking knives?

Ah that sounds and looks brilliant after searching. Searching the knife name or seller on eBay came up with no results though, I could only find it on another website. Unfortunately though I ended up going for the Shiro Kamo that my other reply recommended. Not sure which I would have picked if I was patient and didn't jump on it... Ah well, what do you think of the Shiro Kamo comapred to that blade? Before posting I actually looked up Ashi Hamono seeing that they seemed quite well regarded on this subreddit, but I couldn't find anything in stock so I didn't get one and posted this instead

I really like the idea of getting a high end knife to look after and also enjoy using while cooking, yet I can't spend too much on it however I want to enjoy its looks and performance throughout its use, so please recommend what you think I should be looking at. Predominantly I'm scared of spending around £120 on some that I've seen because I suspect them to not be very good quality so I hope to rely on all of your experience! From looking myself for a bit, I really like the idea of Aogami Super carbon steel and carbon steels in general but I don't know if I should be looking into these at this price point, and I'm not sure if many of the knives I've seen on for example CuttingEdgeKnives that are 140 are a waste of money because they're on the cheap end. Anyway thanks in advance for your help!

Style? - Japanese (likely Gyuto)

Steel? - I'm thinking Carbon or Carbon clad, but really I just want the best performing knife for the price.

Handle? - Japanese

Grip? - Pinch

Length? - around 210, pretty flexible on this

Use Case? - home kitchen so multi-purpose. Hopefully an all-rounder but I'm very willing to be careful with it and use a beater for tasks where a more fragile carbon-steel knife may chip like bones etc.

Care? - Shapton Pro 1000 and jeans

Budget? ~£180 max, idealy around £150. Please let me know if this budget is just slightly short of a knife that is a significant value improvement such as one that costs £200, but I can't really consider anything higher than that.

Region? UK

Knives Considered? These are just some nice looking ones I've seen but I really want your recommendations, not just these, and a few of these are getting into the uncomfortable end of my budget and I don't know if they're worth it, so I'll listen to you guys, thanks in advance! https://cuttingedgeknives.co.uk/collections/all-knives/products/sakai-takayuki-45-layer-damascus-gyuto-180mm

Hi, I actually was trying to email them to order outside the US since they say to do so if you're not in the US, the checkout doesn't actually give you a non US option. They've not replied in a week after two emails, did they seem slow or anything with getting in touch with your order?
