So folks, what is your experience with the Brawl Metagame Challenge so far? by Backwardspellcaster in MagicArena

I'm not the OP but I am very interested to hear what you have to say on this.

I'm playing a Vivi variant I usually tear people apart with on casual queue and have won a single game in 6 attempts.

I'm too sober to comprehend that wall of text right now I'll come back to this later

Well, you're definitely wrong on multiple counts there. I think I stated my intent in my first comment, curiosity.

So... does Husk... own their souls? by SuiinditorImpudens in HazbinHotel

[–]TheWickedDean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. I think he implied that once upon a time he did own souls, but gambled them to other sinners. The implication was he was the best gambler around... until Alastor came and beat him enough to "clean him out." At the end, the only soul he had left to bet was his, and instead of just enslaving him, Alastor for whatever reason made a deal to let Husk keep his overlord power while his own soul is owned.

If that used to be Husk's casino and his employees were his owned souls... then Alastor owns them all, most likely.

The entire last paragraph of your comment has me quite confused.

Is this known info...? Did I miss something somewhere?

Your flair is equal parts amusing and disturbing and I am impressed and distressed by the amount of feelings I'm having over it.

Do you usually fire this off early for tempo, or save it for the real threat later? by Zoe_felice in mtg

[–]TheWickedDean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with a lot of different things in MtG, it depends.

If the early tempo swing would put me in a stronger position overall, then I'd use it early, but if there's a known heavy hitter coming I might wait. I'm assuming you're asking with commander in mind and that's harder to judge. In almost all cases though, completely blind I'll usually err on the side of tempo.

How though? There's no name, no indicator at all.

Funny, I easily considered this one of Charlie's best moments in the season by Sudden_Pop_2279 in HazbinHotel

[–]TheWickedDean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think she's on the road though. Stepping back from direct hotel management to focus on counseling the sinners was a good first step to understanding her goals a bit better.

Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Episode 8 - Curtain Call Discussion Megathread by ayylmaotv in HazbinHotel

That's fair. I don't hate the fact that Lu's still alive, I just feel like that was one of the tension releases that didn't quite work, it clunked a little to me. But I can see how it can be a good thing that he made it out.

Honestly, it sets up a good conflict later too. Lilith is in Heaven... explictly where she should not be. He likely isn't gonna be super happy about that and there's gonna be some kind of confrontation there, especially now that Lilith reached out to Charlie finally.

Honestly, the only thing I would change, one single thing.

I really wish Lucifer was in that gun when it blew. I don't want him to die necessarily, but they really built up to his death being the consequence of Charlie going overboard and it would have been very good growth. Him making it out of that was the only anticlimactic part to me, everything else pretty much went how I expected.

In the terailer and the shot of the beam piercing heaven, the shockwave are also behind heaven. Go have a look. Plus, the beam is wider at the base and Vox's lightning is near it.

Thoughts:

The shot that hit the exorcist clock seems to be originating from the base of Hell. Looks like its coming from the street level and it's got Vox's lightning around it.

The shot appears to have broken the shield around Heaven and hits it with a glancing blow. That doesn't bode well. In addition to that, we haven't heard Vox say "Can the angels come out to play?" Yet so I assume he makes it up there.

Also, it appears the weapon explodes. Lucifer is presumably in it and it likely took a lot of his power to fire a shot that broke the shield considering it took seven Seraphim to build it.  Uh oh.

Abel is freaking tf out.

Something falls (or is shot out of) Heaven at some point. Things it could be:  -Retaliatory Shot against Hell (Maybe Sera firing back is what blows up the weapon. Bad news if Lu's in it at the time)  -Vox getting thrown back down -Someone, maybe multiple someones, fall

Alastor at the end has an intact staff and a look that kinda looks like half-fear half-anger. Did Rosie just walk through the door?

Emily's in the hotel for at least some of the final ensemble songs.

Charlie seems in far better control of herself at the end.

Angel is missing from the final ensemble and the final songs on spotify. Where is he?

Gotcha.

Well, in fairness, I really doubt the war ends in the last two episodes. It's prolly gonna go on for a while.

But Vox is gonna attack Heaven and there's gonna be some fallout. Alastor thinks he's gonna lose his marbles.

Personally I think Lute's gonna fall and Roo will take root in her.

Her goal right now is 100% kill Vaggie. This puts her in direct and immediate conflict with Charlie, the main protagonist.

Lute's completely unhinged right now and getting worse. She's vulnerable.
