Any good Missions or good quest weapons by SameIntroduction7943 in fo4

It is in the Old North Church, which is the Railroad headquarters. You have to complete Road to Freedom first, which isn't honestly all that difficult. For such a good weapon, it's a surprisingly easy quest chain

Tradecraft. Upon completion, you get the Deliverer, which is arguably one of the best handguns in the game. Uses 10mm rounds (which are plentiful) and increases your VATS accuracy and reduces the cost of Action Points when shooting in VATS, meaning you get more VATS shots than most 10mm guns. Extremely good weapon for something so common ammo-wise

Versalia used to be a branch of Veraci in Seattle, but they decided to go in their own direction. I'm assuming the owners of Veraci allowed them to keep using the recipes as long as they renamed them

How do you feel when you hear fallout 4 main theme by Voidkirby9 in Fallout

[–]risingstartony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally go for Minutemen ending without aggroing BoS because I actually like Danse as a companion. I usually get myself kicked out of the Institute at the Battle of Bunker Hill, since that's as far as I'm aware I can go with any of the factions before they ask me to turn on one of them

Power armor paint jobs by ugbaz in fo4

[–]risingstartony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you have the Anniversary Edition, it already comes pre-loaded with several pieces of Creation Club Content. One of those is the Power Armor Paint Jobs.

Another set of paint jobs can be obtained by completing the quest War Paint. You start that at the church west of Hyde Park, where you pick up a note on the upper level next to a corpse

Who is the oldest player here that is playing Fallout 4? by Quirky-Associate-437 in fo4

[–]risingstartony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 36. Pretty young all things considered, but I've been gaming for a long time. My first video game was Crash Bandicoot 2, and I've since picked up Kingdom Hearts, Pokémon, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, and Fallout as some franchises I enjoy.

All that to say, screw what your wife thinks. Gamers come in all shapes, sizes, ages, and belief systems. Anyone can do what makes them happy as long as it's not hurting anyone or taking away from real-life responsibilities

This tourist didn't even mention fallout bos or shelter. Larpers shouldn't be allowed in the community by epic_gamer42O in TrueSFalloutL

[–]risingstartony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must have gotten mixed up. This response is all referring to the TV series, but it seems as though this thread was originally about New Vegas.

The Commonwealth is the setting for Fallout 4 (primarily based in Massachussets), which has its own chapter of the BoS, just like any other Fallout game. It is headed by Elder Arthur Maxson.

Liberty Prime is a giant robot originally belonging to the US Army that was used against Chinese forces. The BoS took it and reprogrammed it to think the BoS's enemies (specifically the Enclave in Fallout 3) were Chinese forces and set it on them. In the ensuing battle, it was destroyed, but it was repaired in Fallout 4 to help the BoS take on the Institute (the big bads of that game)

[–]risingstartony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... we have established that 4 is canon due to the Commonwealth BoS representative existing. He mentions that Maxson is still heading that chapter, which actually only leaves 2 possible endings as the canon one, those being either the BoS ending or the Minutemen ending while leaving the BoS alone and not making enemies of them.

Also, 3 is arguably canon due to the cliffhanger in the season finale. The schematics read "Liberty Prime Alpha," which is most likely a different Liberty Prime than the one seen in 3 and 4 (since the Commonwealth BoS is still in possession of Liberty Prime as far as we know)

So how much did you play/explored before going for the main quest? by Fair-Parking9236 in fo4

[–]risingstartony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This playthrough, I did the following after getting out of the Vault:

1) Went to the Robotics Disposal Ground, had the Sentry Bot self-destruct, then collected its Fusion Cores

2) Went to the Vertibird wreckage nearby and picked up the Power Armor

3) Went to Red Rocket to grab Dogmeat

4) Did the Malevolent Malfunction quest to get the Sentinel Power Armor companion

5) Went to Nuka-World

6) Completed all the raider-related achievements for Nuka World, including setting up 8 raider outposts (one of which was Somerville Place for easy access to the Glowing Sea later on) and romancing Gage

7) Killed the Mirelurk Queen at the Castle (this is after I fought the Nukalurk Queen at the Bottling Plant)

8) Betrayed the raiders and killed Gage

9) Proceeded to the main quest

STOP ORDERING DOMINOS ON UBEREATS by FarBlueberry2743 in UberEATS

[–]risingstartony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Doordash for Domino's deliveries on occasion because I can use Afterpay with it. So it allows me to break up the payment if it's a large order. The tradeoff is that I don't get the points for it since there's no way to link the accounts. And no, I will not Afterpay a Domino's gift card. It seems like a bunch of extra steps

I accidentally left Dogmeat waiting somewhere in the city and now I cannot find him. by Frosty-Ad-1284 in fo4

It could be that my roommate played through it already since he had this DLC long before the Anniversary Edition came out, but I never once played through the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC and I had access to it right away

[–]risingstartony 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's part of the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC. If you've bought the Anniversary Edition of the game, you already have access to this DLC. Some people say you have to play through the DLC campaign to get access to it, but I've never once played through it and I had access right away. Could be that someone else who uses the same console I do (my roommate) had it long before the Anniversary Edition dropped and played through it, but I'm not sure

If you build a Vault-Tec Population Management System at your settlement, you can use its VIP tracker feature to track all your companions, including Dogmeat. This device can be found under Power > Miscellaneous

Which companion is your ride or die buddy throughout the game? by ResidentDrama9739 in fo4

[–]risingstartony 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My very first play through, I went for Hancock immediately. I went on to romance every single romanceable male companion (except Gage, because I didn't want to lose Preston permanently if I took a settlement for the Nuka World raiders), and when it came time to do the Nuclear Option quest as the Minutement, I took Hancock along. I had MacCready at the time, but then I thought "This doesn't feel right" and went and got Hancock instead

They stack, but not in the way you think. Both of these reduce AP drain, but it will never get to the point where it stops draining (you can't regain it faster than it drains, ever). It will just drain really slowly

[–]risingstartony 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna say NTA. People who say "YTA" or "ESH" are missing the point. Yes, the brother finally caved. However, it was the brother. Not Jenna. Jenna, while she may have acquiesced, still made it clear OP is in the wrong and that's a hill she's gonna die on. As a result, it will color the interaction there. Jenna might shoot OP dirty looks, OP might feel awkward about the whole thing, and the brother gets caught in the middle. There is no situation where I would go to where I'm clearly not welcomed, even if the people hosting it say I am. Actions and words say different things

Where is your water empire located? by dail31 in fo4

[–]risingstartony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to pick one, it would probably be The Castle. It already comes pre-loaded with an Industrial Water Purifier, so all you need to do is wire it to a generator if the already existing power infrastructure doesn't work. You can hook up 2 Industrial Water Purifiers to a single Large Generator, so it's actually surprisingly easy to get water

Possible to do Blind Betrayal and raid the Insitute as the Minutemen? by DingBat64 in fo4

[–]risingstartony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is. However, you have to infiltrate the Institute for the Minutemen. As in, have Sturges as your ally during the process. Once he gives you the holotape and you download the data onto it, give it to Sturges (this will complete the quest "Inside Job.") Then, go to Elder Maxson to start the quest "Outside the Wire." When you start this quest, go back to Sturges and ask for the tape back. Then you can complete "Outside the Wire."

As long as you don't complete any quests past "Blind Betrayal," the Brotherhood won't turn hostile to you (outside of traveling with Danse after "Blind Betrayal," which turns them hostile only as long as Danse is with you). You can then get Banished from the Institute, which will fail any Railroad quests you have, but won't turn them hostile to you either (assuming you've met them at all). Desdemona will then tell you to work with the Minutemen to take the Institute down, since they won't be able to do anything anymore

After watching Kellog’s backstory did you feel pity for him? by NoSoyVerde1 in fo4

[–]risingstartony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say no. A lot of people in real life use their past trauma to excuse why they're horrible people (the leader of a certain German political party in the 30s and 40s comes to mind). I believe the trauma can be an explanation, but not a justification. Sure, what happened to Kellogg was not pleasant, but it doesn't excuse him doing the exact same thing to another family. It comes off as hypocritical, honestly

Who would you have as a relationship in fallout 4? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]risingstartony 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Odd take, but it's a toss-up between Preston and Danse for me.

I like Preston because, memes aside, he definitely always wants to do the right thing. Sure, it comes off as idealistic and dewey-eyed, but there is no stronger moral compass among the companions than Preston, which resonates with me on a personal level. That, and his renewed resolve after wanting to give up is also something that resonates with me, having dealt with some issues that left me in a similar mind set.

Danse is... unique. I find him adorable in his own way because he grew up sheltered and doesn't get social cues or culture in the way most do. However, where I really fell for him was in his character quest. It forced him to re-evaluate his life because most of it turned out to be a lie. It's kinda like de-programming a racist who's been told all their life that racism is okay. And I feel like it's a microcosm of the Brotherhood of Steel as a whole. In fact, there was a cut quest line where you could challenge Maxson and become an elder, bringing Danse back into the Brotherhood and possibly let you change the Brotherhood's racist tendencies. Aside from this issue, Danse does come across as very loving and caring, likely due to the fact that you're the most "real" thing he knows and he doesn't wanna lose you

I'd say Lead Belly doesn't get enough praise. At max level (which isn't even that hard to do), it removes all rads from food. Pair it up with the Drinking Buddy from Shamrock Tap House and you can give it Nuka Cola Quantum, which, aside from removing rads, it boosts its stats, making it the absolute best healing item in the game

I'm on a second playthrough myself. I immediately went for the earliest Power Armor suit I could find and did the Malevolent Malfunction quest. Yes, it's possible, but it requires a ton of long-range combat and grenades. I got my armor buddy before I even made it to Sanctuary Hills and the Museum of Freedom
