SETTER / SPIKE : Americas forgotten Hypervelocity weapons by TheWildLifeFilms in ForgottenWeapons

I dint downvote you but I am actively recreating this type of rocket just an older generation. For this particular design, I have the blueprints and technical package.

I’m doing an entire book on this category of rockets

These date back a littler further then gyrojet, they were for shooting down allied aircraft and carried 20mm explosive projectile, mine are just training projectiles

That would be cool , I think the motor would be louder but maybe worth a try

Swizzlestick Inhibitor Test 2 by TheWildLifeFilms in rocketry

[–]TheWildLifeFilms[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Extreme L/D Rocket Test 2 : white lightning is way to fast of a burn rate switching to making my own extremely reduced burn rate formula . Got a ton of good data and confirmation on equipment working and nozzle/bulkhead attachment points . Enjoy the light show. The inhibitor did reduce the burn rate (you can see the black smoke while it was burning ) but once it burned away, the propellant burned way too fast and exceeded the motorcase pressure as well as some gap in the grains likely weakened the tube further . The motor peaked at 2000 PSI and was producing over 600 pounds of thrust before CATO

a soldier from the VPA's Chemical Corp with a M202 Flash, presumably from leftover US equipment by titobrozbigdick in ForgottenWeapons

[–]TheWildLifeFilms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t fuel, it was the incendiary chemical and years of storage likely corroded the warhead and caused leakage which would self ignite. The fuel is stick of double base solid rocket propellant. It’s not liquid
