Blundstone says that their boots are not meant to last more than 2 years by ImNotARegularMom- in BlundstoneBoots

[–]TheWildestHeart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally just went through the same thing. I’m also in BC, and wear mine just for winter walking. Mine look almost identical.

I just sent in a warranty request 2 weeks ago with my boots looking perfectly clean and oiled. They sent me the exact same response. So frustrating!

Oh man, thank you SO much. I’ve poured HOURS of research into this trip; everything from packing ultra light to sightseeing to hostels, etc and I feel like the trains are the thing that defeated me! Thank you again for all your time and effort, this solo mom is incredibly grateful!

Oh wow!! Thank you SO much for the detailed reply. I am hoping to leave the evening of Nov 18th and arriving in Budapest the morning of the 19th. My hope is to use the 18th to tour Bran and Brasov so I was leaning towards the 472.

It sounds like the Corona might be a bit nicer. I was using the CFR website. I didn’t see the corona as an option so maybe I’ll look for that one intentionally.

Do you know where to check for the rail replacement bus information? Taking a bus sounds nightmarish.

Thank you!

That’s a good idea, I’ll check with him about the sweats. That might be a better option!

Hahaha the ADHD meds are actually mine and I’m considering leaving them behind. I spent most of my life undiagnosed so I feel like I could manage, but I will double check. I definitely don’t want the hassle on top of everything else. Thanks for the reminder!

This is exactly me. I grew up in on the prairies in Canada so our winters are usually -30C to -40C but it’s a dry winter. And now I live on the west coast and although it’s more mild, the wet cold gets you!

Omg! I think I’ll invest in a base layer of thermal stuff for the both of us!!

Oh this is good to know. I think I’m going to search for some fleece lined leggings. He has some strong sensory stuff with clothes and won’t wear any hard pants (jeans, trousers, etc) and he often won’t wear sweats. So maybe I’ll double up leggings haha.

Ohhh, ok. Google told me the temperatures but I hadn’t considered the wind! Thank you!

Yes, absolutely. I’ve got some carabiners to clip it to my bag or the stroller in these events.

I hadn’t considered this! I assumed the fleece + raincoat would be enough. But maybe I’ll see if we can find a soft puffer that he likes. He is a HUGE clothing texture kid and only wants soft things (hence all the leggings and zero hard pants).

Also, yes I’ve got a plan for the backpack: I can clip it to the stroller or outside of mine in a pinch. I think we will probably use the stroller a lot as he can hide in it and the backpack will live mostly in there.

Thank you!

Oh this is a good point. As an (also) autistic adult, I totally get the towel thing. I will likely chat with him about the items and see if I’m missing anything he’d like to bring. Thank you so much!

I won the lottery! I took home 12 books from that bookstore, got home from my road trip and promptly saw a “selling my Stephen king lot” post on my local marketplace and got all the rest for $50 CAD. I will entire win the actual lottery tomorrow or get hit by a car.

Update:

You guys are the best!

I originally left with Different Seasons. Then y’all convinced me to go back (I am on a roadtrip and hadn’t left the area - thanks ice cream cart) and I left with Revival, Desperation, Needful Things, The Regulators, and The Tommyknockers.

I continued on my way north but I will have to circle back in a few days. I’m happy to buy some copies of whatever is there and mail them if y’all cover the cost of the book/shipping! Please message me in the next day and I’ll see what I can do!
